The vast majorly of Hawiyes aren’t farmers, they’re Nomadic camel herders. Hawiyes speak Af Maxaa and Raxenweyne speak Af May.

I’m convinced that when people make these talking points, they stem from pure xenophobia toward Bantu individuals. Time and again, I’ve seen the same generalisations directed at Hawiye, simply because a small section lives alongside Somali Bantus, and they are not alone in this, as Dir (biimaal) do as well. Cultural differences are largely shaped by location, not clan. The gugundhabe in galbeed have differences from an hg in galgaduud, yet both are hawiye.

I've educated myself on archeogenetics a long time ago and found out that 99% of Somali males descend from two haplogroups. If people somehow consider Somali clans to be distinct entities then Germans might as well be dozens of ethnicities.
