Djibouti

They will probably have a billion dollar port concession deal with Eritrea.I never seen an Arab country as evil as the UAE, they're showing their contempt for Djibouti and would stop at nothing until they completely destroy their economy![]()
Even djiboutis deal was better than sl's deal, they got something in return but it seems like all that will end when assab deal is done. They will probably have a billion dollar port concession deal with Eritrea.
Most definitely a better deal than the one with SL.
Assab has more value than Berbera, not that Berbera isn't strategic we've yet to see their plans for the port. They will probably have a billion dollar port concession deal with Eritrea.

Eritrea is a decade behind Djibouti right now in everything from logistics to equipments, but who can tell whats going to happen 5 years down the line. Those Xabash making peace to send Guelleh a message, that they have optionsThis is definitely an L. Won't try to spin it like somalilanders on here lol
If it's built by china, its going through djib. Built by uae, it's going through assab. Uae can stay mad. Alx we got our of that fucked up deal
This whole twist with Eritrea and Ethiopia made Berbera port go from from a main regional port for DP World to be used in conjunction with the one in Eritrea to offload Djibouti of their monopoly. We all taking Ls but berbera is no longer even a thing. UAE didn't get their way in djibouti and were left out the OBOR. Niggas are fuming
Berbera is gonna be built and Atleast 1/4 of Ethiopian trade going through it .This whole twist with Eritrea and Ethiopia made Berbera port go from from a main regional port for DP World to be used in conjunction with the one in Eritrea to offload Djibouti of their monopoly.
So yes this is an L for Somaliland, Berbera is probably going to be used as backup for Eritrean port.

Berbera port isn't needed anymore so it's been cancelled. Accept it.Berbera is gonna be built and Atleast 1/4 of Ethiopian trade going through it .

REGIONAL RIVALRY
The UAE is also driven by a fear that rivals such as Iran or Qatar could gain a foothold. Both Qatar and Turkey are strong supporters of Somalia’s government. Earlier this year ties frayed between Mogadishu and Abu Dhabi and the two countries ended a UAE military training programme in Somalia.
Abu Dhabi has a military base in Assab which it uses in its military campaign in the war in Yemen, located just across the Red Sea.
Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir arrived in Addis Ababa on Thursday and met with Abiy, although there were no detailed announcements from the meeting.
Last month, Reuters reported that Ethiopia had asked Saudi Arabia for a year’s supply of fuel with payment delayed for 12 months to ease severe foreign currency shortages.
Eritrea’s foreign minister and a close adviser to President Isaias Afkwerki arrived in Ethiopia on Friday to discuss progress on implementing the agreement they signed last month.
The rapprochement ended Africa’s longest major military stalemate and holds great potential for both economies, which were held back by the “no war, no peace” status quo.
Though the two countries have re-opened embassies in each other’s capital and resumed flights, details ranging from border demarcation to war reparations have not been worked out.
@Kingcobra do you think UAE mediated between Eritrea and Ethiopia just to undermine Djibouti?
Also do you think they even wanted to reconcile or that they were promised deals to bad to refuse ?
Berbera port isn't needed anymore so it's been cancelled. Accept it.

@Kingcobra
Remember when I told you Assab would sideline Djibouti and DDSI oil will be shipped through Eritrea and transported by UAE military ships through the Red Sea.
The talks in Ethiopia weren't just about peace, they are about the UAE fully attacking Somali Hanti and assets.
-They sidelined Berbera for Assab.
-Took Djibouti to Court while getting IOG upset with Xamaar.
-Building a pipeline in Eritrea, through Somali and Tigray regions.
-Gave Chinese the first ever concession to build a Gas Plant to clean cheap oil from Ethiopia.
The writing is on the wall. Chinas first every state visit to UAE wasn't about bringing Chinese tourists, it was about securing Chinese interests inline with the UAE in the horn of Africa. 5 days later Addis and Assab visit to Dubai wasn't a coincidence, it was a move designed help China get payback for Chinese killed by ONLF rebels a few year back.
The games the UAE is playing is divide Somali Oil and Gas assets with China and use rivalry ports to ship our Hanti.
Somaliland has one more Ace in their pocket, and they must seek Federal Autonomy within Somalia and make peace between Puntand and help Dhulbantes living in the Nugaal Basin get access to seismic concessions.
Between Isaaq, Dhulbante and MJ, there's 100billion barrels of Oil in my opinion yet to be found.
The AUE is looking to expand its Portfolio, and this includes leasing Socotra to surround any offshore Puntland oil findings. Create a deep rivalry between Bosasso and Berbera. Get a win against Djibouti by having IOG change policy with Xamaar. And last but not least, try to sabatoge turkish companies from entering into Oil and Gas deals with Somaliland.
If Puntland and Somaliland don't find ways to unite through oil concession integration, the entire HORN of Africa will be compromised by Chinese/AUE interests.
