Libya's Prime minister requested military assistance from Turkey while Zoo.malians call upon the likes of Uganda, Burundi, and Kenya for help.
Warlord Haftar backed by the UAE, Egypt, France, and the US(Russia to an extent), is inching closer to seizing Tripoli. Turkey will deploy their navy and provide aerial support to prevent Haftar from capturing the seat of the government. You wouldn't know that there was an arms embargo in place for Libya due to Haftar's allies(primarily UAE & Egypt) repeatedly breaching it by equipping him with fighter jets, armoured vehicles, heavy weaponry, etc.
Erdogan's government recently signed a maritime agreement with Libya's "UN recognized government" to counter the Greece(Greek Cyprus), Israel, and Egypt axis in the region in what's shaping up to be a direct conflict between Turkey & Greece as a result of the energy geopolitics of the Eastern Mediterranean.
There is a lot to gain from having a friendly pro-Turkey government in place to secure the country's energy(gas pipelines and oil exploration) interests in the Eastern Medditerrian sea and EEZ which is why Erdogan is seeking to prop up Al-Saraaj's embattled government. The massive potential commercial opportunity that awaits Turkish firms in the eventual reconstruction of Libya is the icing on the cake.
When it comes to Somalia, there are too many hands in the pot(UAE, KSA, Qatar, Ethiopia, Kenya, US, UK, EU, Turkey, and AMISOM)
Not to mention the local elements playing a hand in destabilizing our country(political opportunists, corrupt ganacsato protecting their ill gotten gains, "minority" clans(tribe in the case of Madowweyne) joining AS in masse as a result of political/economical, and societal disenfranchisement, etc). Al Shabaab in some cases is a hired gun willing to do the bidding of any of these elements whether foreign or domestic within our society.
If anything, we need to chip away at removing these foreign influences bit by bit. Al Shabaab has grown into a racketeering conglomerate while operating under Villa Somalia as a shadow government in Muqdisho. There is no end in sight to their madness, therefore the most responsible thing for the government to do is open negotiations with them. At the moment, we don't have the military means nor earnest support from a willing partner to defeat them.
The resurrection of Somalia is too big of a task for any nation alone to fully commit to, which is why I don't think Turkey will ever send troops to our God forsaken country. The Turks are doing their part in pumping out hastily trained batches of "SNA" troops and equipping us with light weaponry, it is high time for Somalis to take responsibility for their own security.
