Wikipedia states there are only 200k worldwide thatβs literally almost the population of Somalis in America
Ainβt there is Somali clan who used to be Harari but decided to join Somali ethnicity wise ?
Sheekhaal and karanle used to have connections with them too I forgot
I found this on Lipstick Alley. It was written by a Harari user there.
βAs a Harari, I have to realise the difficult truth that the Hararis are are people and culture near extinction. We have been decimated by both the Oromo invasion and Amhara imperialism for the last few centuries. The Harari identity is on its death bed. I hope to carry the Harari culture and identity as long as I can, but I doubt we will exist in a few centuries with intermarriage and ethnic cleansing on the increase. We will be one of many high cultures that have been decimated by lesser cultures like the Oromos and I hope Harari culture will atleast be appreciated by those who will claim our city and legacies as theirs.
The Somalis around the area appreciated Harari intellectual culture and way of life for hundreds of years and have always been a friend of Harar. I hope they carry the banner of Harar when we are gone. The local Oromos have shown their face these last few years and I no longer consider them a friend of Harar.β

You would have to be a little more specific, there were many somali clans that had presence in harar from isaaq to bartire, geri, issa, sheekhal, karanle and even a sub clan of harla kombe called awari. Will waal had his family intermarried to the sultan of harar in 1850s.Ainβt there is Somali clan who used to be Harari but decided to join Somali ethnicity wise ?

Who was will waal exactly, I always here rumours about him but no one has given his full storyYou would have to be a little more specific, there were many somali clans that had presence in harar from isaaq to bartire, geri, issa, sheekhal, karanle and even a sub clan of harla kombe called awari. Reer Xamar and Chimni donβt count. Theyβre literally mixed Somalis who have been mixing with Ajnabi traders for centuries. Their is nothing separate about them, nor do they really have a separate culture.Inshallah allah willing somalis will exist tall and strong until yom al-qiyama. In somalia if you would look at reer xamar or even the reer chimini people don't compline of people encroaching on their land and assimilating them but they still retain their culture. If hararis would've stayed with somalis they would live a hundred times better than they do right now.
I agree. There is a systemic attack on the harari identity by the amhara settlers at large and the surrounding oromo population. There is literal effort to take over their land. After the war with ethiopia many harari and somalis were chased away from harar and replaced by amhara settlers and neighbouring oromos. It's not completely over and hararis will still exist but the situation doesn't look good.
Will waal is a somali ruler or a garaad from the bartire clan who lived in jigjiga. Usally somali garaads have no real power but will waal was able to wrestling power away from his clan and became an official ruler. You could say he was the alpha of his time. His life story is interesting and was taught in school in somalia. He lived in the 19th century. There is much more to say about his life a number of books was writing about it but this is his story in a nutshell.Who was will waal exactly, I always here rumours about him but no one has given his full story
Itβs obviously a Somali who wrote that shit hhhIsnt lipstick alley a black girl gossip site?
Why the hell would u post that kind of stuff there of all places?
Welcome back my friend i knew you were lurking around etching to say that. You like to see it folks.Itβs obviously a Somali who wrote that shit hhh
New fact drop:Whilst claiming oppression dont forget that.
Hararis look more like somalis than oromo. They are an ethnic close that are historically very close to somalis. They were apart of our empires and wanted to join Somalia twice, after independence and during the Ogaden war that they fought with us. They got genocided twice by amhara and oromo expansionists have taken over there region called βhararβ. They used to own a good chunk of southern and central Ethiopia but lost all that to Oromo.Whats so special about them?
I cant tell them apart from oromos
What the ethnic composition of Harar today?Hararis look more like somalis than oromo. They are an ethnic close that are historically very close to somalis. Their numbers are dwindling and thereβs less than 200,000 worldwide. There wouldβve been at least 10 million Hararis right now if it werenβt for Amhara Imperalism and Oromo expansionism.
Harar was the capitol of somali empires and it is a historic islamic city. It has the most mosques in the world and is considered the 4th holiest city after Jerusalem. Itβs nickname is Madiah Al-Awliya which is city of saints. The city id famous for their city walls which Somalis built for Harar to keep Oromo out.
Inshallah when we liberate Ogaden they will join Somalia too. They donβt like the Oromo or Habesha, they only like Somalis.
Oromo changed the demographics so much, so that they can claim it as apart of Oromia. What the ethnic composition of Harar today?

It's too late. They are minority in both the city of Harar and the regional state of Harar, and constitute only 9% of their region.
Hararis has suffered the most from Ethiopian Imperialism, to the point of extinction. There are only 25.000 Harari speakers left. In fact, the Harari language is not even required to be learned in Harar.
To make matters worse, there are less than 70k Hararis in Ethiopia and about 20k-ish in the Harari regional state, and 12k-ish in their capital/largest city. Waxay u baahan yihiin gurmad si dagdag ah
