Sure it happens where Somali girls gets treated like shit but what about the other side?

In my family me and my younger brother did more then two of my elder sisters but it’s not like I cared because I’ve seen it as the boy supposed to help out the family rather then the girls . But in the same time it was supposed to be the eldest job.

I know couple Somali boys who their parents was very strict on them and even send their ass back to Somalia but somehow the road life influenced them.

So your friends’ family sent them back to Somalia for dhaqan celis and some quran lessons I presume? That doesn’t make you stricter. That shit just makes you a lazy parent because you don’t want to do the parenting yourself.

Men needed to be guided in their younger years because there’s more to lose when they’re fully formed adults. If they weren’t raised with compassion yet firmness, a realistic outlook on life and their futures, and if they don’t have examples to follow from then they’re fucked. Our community lacks leaders for our men to look up to.

That’s what shapes our differences. Women can survive and thrive under the worst of conditions because we’re expected to learn all this stuff on our own.

It really depends. In a more traditional household the daughters become house slaves but in a more whatever/western household it’s usually the son is ignored or just there while the daughter is princess. Or maybe both the son and daughter are caasi spoilt kids

They wouldn't be in gangs if they were punished to begin with and had placed fear that if they do there would be punishments. The problem is they have no responsibilities so theres no fear over what they do.

1. Too much emphasis on deen. Not enough emphasis on assimilating and learning how to navigate the systems you live under. Some of our parents even fight against us assimilating.

2. Not all but most of their parents are uneducated and suffering from ptsd, displacement woes, and countless other health issues. It’s difficult for them join the workforce.

3. Parents think they still live in Africa with a support system surrounding them and have too many kids back to back so some kids are neglected of attention. They haven’t adapted to their environment and haven’t adjusted their life choices accordingly.

4. Somali parents don’t gaf about childhood development.

There’s studies done on the difficulties in assimilation for some of these parents and I’m guessing it bleeds into the children. The educated Somalis who arrived before the war do not have the same problems with their families as the post-war Somalis.

You're in denial, in Dubai, Saudi their whole family would get deported if they commit a crime, why ? Theres already fear in placed within them.
