This is the story of the founding of Mogadishu in the Arabic book and banadri books

Translation: Seven brothers from Al-Ahsa fleeing from the persecution of the Sultan (the Uyuni state) and landed in Banadir and founded Mogadishu Merca Barawa

The Yemenis claim that these brothers came from Yemen and belong to the al-Harith tribe of al-Madhajiyya. also Omanis claim to be Omanis, but they claim that their name is Bani Al-Horth

Yes, most of the coastal cities are based on Arabs or were founded because of trade with the Arabs
Arabs were irrelevant in seafaring until the medieval era.

Coastal somalis have always been involved in the indian ocean trade. There was a system in the Somali peninsula of goods flowing from and to the indian ocean. Caravans of nomads in the interior and merchants in coastal cities. That is how somalis have always functioned.

Some towns may have been established after the Arabs became more important in the trade but ancient and early medieval somali cities have little to do with these desert dwellers.

Edit: I'd like to add that if ya'll are so desperate to give credit of Somali cities to foriengiers then you should give them to the indians, majority of these Somali coastal cities and towns lived off trade with India. But you don't see Indians claiming these cities, only these southern Arabians like Omanis who were in the desert doing f*ck all.

The Omani claim is true .With the correction that they did not founding Mogadishu, these brothers did not leave any trace in Banadir. The truth is that they settled for a short period and moved to the south of Zanzibar and Kilwa

Are you telling me that the Arabs were not the most who come to the Somali coasts? How were they not merchants? Did you forget that there are dozens of inscriptions in northern Somalia of southern Arab merchants who arrived there, dating back more than two thousand years?
This is a sarcophagus found in Egypt for Yemeni merchants who used to transport incense to Egypt, the branch, and you say that the Arabs were not sailors No, but they were among the best sailors in history
The Yemenis were sedentary farmers who did not live in a desert or were herders of camels like the Somalis and Arabs in central Arabia.

Are we talking about Mogadishu and southern somalia here?

Of course there were some arabs reading in Northern towns and cities, we were right next to the Arabian peninsular.
But arabs didn't found most the cities in the Somali coast, that's a ridiculous statement.
Ancient arabs didn't provide 1/10th the goods that Indians and persians did so why would they be so important in pre Islamic Somalia's trade?

The age of Somali nationalism is 2000 years to 2500. If there was anything in Somalia, Arab sailors would come to the Somali coasts and exchange goods. There was not much for the Somalis to export. Mention a source that The Persians were present on the Somali coast more than the Arabs The name Mogadishu is Arabic origin

Mogadishu literally means "sight killer" or something along those lines.

Somalis exported incense, ebony, gold & ivory.

What did arabs have to export? Arabs did not dominate anything outside their peninsula before Islam. Desert dwellers in Arabia wouldn't have been such successful merchants that they somehow set up majority of cities in somali coast. Bullshit at its finest.
Pre Islamic arabs were inferior to Somalis, why do you put them above large civilised states such as Persia and India in importance within the indian ocean trade? Heck Ethiopia had more importance than pre Islamic Arab tribes.

I listened to a lecture where the speaker said it derives from the Somali term Bandar.
In the past coastal settlements in Somlia were called Bandar. There's a place named Bandar siyad in Puntland.

Mogadishu was founded by arabs. The word xamar means reddish soil in the arabic language. Mogadishu was always historically an arab city.
Nubians were Arabs too.
The coastal habash cities in Eritrea were founded by arab yemenis to do trades.

Arab tribes were barbarians before Islam wtf you on about, only had a few cities around oasis but somehow managed to build dozens of towns and cities on the Somali coast :drakelaugh:

The Yemenis are the ones who exported incense to Egypt. This is why there is a tomb of a Yemeni merchant who was buried in Egypt, and they found his coffin. You just have an inferiority complex from Arabs This always appears in your comments 😂

Unfortunately, this is old. The Yemenis claimed Punt, and they have evidence such as Yemeni writings in Egypt, Yemeni graves in Egypt and you have nothing The Yemenis were the ones who used to export incense to Yemen. This matter ended after the discovery of the tomb of this Yamim merchant
This is the sarcophagus of the Yemeni merchant in the Egyptian Museum 👇
FB_IMG_1690040482340.jpg

And this is the translation of the written text that he was exporting myrrh and incense to Egypt in 300 BC And he was issuing it for the sake of the Egyptian gods
Give me a clue like this The Somalis didn't appear at that time, the Somalis appeared only 2000 years ago or less
