Lmao. So you're attacking the governmemt for not fighting ethiopia because we have nothing to lose? :damn:

From the previous posts don't they control the juba river flow?
Yes, we must fight for our future generations are risk being abbysinnized. We literally have nothing to lose at this point we are rock bottom might as well go down fighting

I don't get the logic of those who argue that Somalia should have voted against Ethiopia and in favor of Egypt.

What such vote would have given us? A bet on the imaginary scenario that Egypt, Sudan and Somalia could somehow gang up and cause disintegration of Ethiopia?

The issue is of international scope and includes many countries not least of them is the US. The Christian West doesn't want and won't allow multi-religious Ethiopia to disappear in the sea of Muslim countries. This was the same reason the Soviets sided with Ethiopia when Siad Barre invaded it.

So what would we have at the end?

1. Ethiopia would remember our vote against them and punish Somalia in one way or another. They can literally dry up Jubba river in Somalia.

2. Egypt is in no position to conduct a full scale war against Ethiopia and in all likelihood wouldn't do anything to stop the GERD dam from filling.

Come on, guys, be real.

I am pretty sure Egypt understands our regional geopolitical situation.

I could agree with you but then we’d both be wrong

Who cares about giving Ethiopia ports? If they guranteed 80% flow of the Juba, let them build a port anywhere in Jubaland. Would even waive all customs requirements and give them a 99 year lease on Buurgaabo.
Why would we do that?! We should be a good allies with the current Ethiopian regime but to give them ports free of taxes on 99 year lease?!! That's insane man.

Dude I thought you were a bit more rational than this. How can we fight Ethiopia with our abysmal army plus the deep divisions amongst ourselves?!. The current Ethiopian regime is a lesser evil than the previous ones, we should be on good terms with them. N&N made the correct decision as much as I despise their incompetent adminstration. We should conceal our emotions and be objective when discussing such delicate political matters.

Farmajo did the right thing here. Somalia should not challenge Ethiopia on transboundry rivers because all of our water comes from Ethiopia. We need to maintain Ethiopian goodwill on this issue because we will be negotiating with them in the future. Somalia owes Egypt no favors, we owe Sudan a lot, but Egypt can go to hell. I want Ethiopia to guarantee 80% flow for the Juba, nothing is worth putting that kind of agreement at risk.
This dam willl become the lifeline to the whole of East Africa. Cheap Electricity is 100% in our interest and help our country move forward 100 time forward. This project always had 100% support in Somalia. This dam will transform our region I do not care what damage it pay cost them poor Arabs in Egypt. Even if there is war we will fight alongside Ethiopia to destroy Egypt. This shit about securing the future of East Africa. We share no interest with Egypt beyond Islam which we also Share with majority of Ethiopia as well. But beyond that we own 40% of Ethiopia.

I was just watching a video about Farmaajo's foreign policy, its not an authoratative video or unbiased but its good summary. One thing I have noticed about Farmaajo's policy it gets constantly misinterpreted by the media, he then uses the propaganda against him months later against the opposition by simply debunking it, this way he makes it seem effortless.
Its Caasimada online, check it out ! Farmaajo he is actually very neutral in terms of foreign policy.

By all accounts it looks like the US has given up on Egypt on both the GERD dam issue and the Libyan war. Think about why el-Sisi had to go to the UN Security Council? Because the US said Egypt is on this own. Replace Egypt with Israel, the US Navy would have probably itself bombed the dam into pieces.

Worse, Egypt’s ruler can’t expect much help from his admirer in the White House. The collapse of negotiations over the Nile dam represents a failure of American mediation — the U.S. Treasury had tried to broker a deal — and Trump, beset with domestic problems amid a reelection campaign, is unlikely to give the matter much more attention. In Libya, the U.S. president seems to have come to an understanding with Turkey, which backs the other side in the civil war.

His foreign policy is advanced. Haven’t been a fan of many other things N&N but they get an A here. Every decision was neutrality, common sense. Only people mad are the pri!cks KSA, UAE who feel they own the Somali ‘Cabids’, or the anarchist, cheap dhabadilifs who draw a paycheck from them, along their 68 IQ welfare fraud fanboys on the internet, social media. Many of those you can find here.

When it comes to that point we will be ready for another jihad to take over the horn.

Chauvinists lack the IQ to understand geopolitics.

Somalia is in no position to defend itself from Ethiopian excursions. We have to placate them thanks to 30 years of endless conflict.
