Our ancestors left the forests and gentle hills of the Omo Valley and Bale for marginal arid scrublands (Somali peninsula) ~ this time frame most likely coincides the split from other lowland Eastern Cushitic groups such as Oromos. Basically we were there first. The Oromo expansion was from 1500s onwards.

The Proto-Somali homeland is Southern Ethiopia.

Then why do Somalis lack Omotic admixture whilst every other group in the Horn of Africa has it? Somalis didn’t enter Ethiopia during our migration Cushitic migration from Egypt/Sudan, but entered Somalia through the Red Sea.

Omotics were indigenous to the highlands, no?

Omotics inhabited the highlands, no?
All Cushitic groups still residing in the Omo Valle/Bale have Omotic admixture, even the Oromos from the lowlands of Borana have it. Even the Orma group that the OP is talking about has Omotic admixture, which they passed on to the Ogaden who conquered and mixed with them in the Jubba Valley/Garissa. What this shows is that us Somalis were a very isolated group and that we couldn’t have inhabited Southern Ethiopia.

Us migrating to Somalia from the red sea makes more sence. Never heard of a ethnic group in southern Ethiopia that carries T1a at all, unlike Somalis.

Ormas have nothing to do with Somalia and are not native to Somalia. They are native to Kenya and or South Ethiopia.

They have T1a.. It's all over East Africa at low percentages, but that's from Somaloids migrating there. Not the other way around.
