In the early days, they were clearly open to IR which is why they also have significant Bantu DNA whilst native Somalis donβt. Theyβre simply a bunch of traders probably of Yemeni and Omani origins in which a good % of them married every group under the sun with Pakistani and Indians leading the way.

Most left during the civil war. Due to having no clan to back or protect them they had to flee for their lives.
However I see people mixing up two things. Indians/Pakistani immigrants that settled in Somalia recently and Banaadiri people who have lived in Banaadir for hundreds of years and are native to the region. Those two should be separated.

Indians and Pakistanis all left during the civil war , there may be one family or something left, but even their masjids was transformed into a house
Today most of them live in Kenya, Tanzania, UK and Canada

Nope they're both, the oldest of them being the Silcis reer amiin khalafow who's ancestors came to the city after their dynasty in Lama doonka ended in 17 th century
