“Qatar’s cultivation of African Islamists, principally Somalia’s al-Shabab insurgents, has similarly troubled the United States, which has accused the movement of providing a haven for al-Qaeda militants involved in attacks aga

Several weeks later, Susan E. Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, urged Turkey to press Qatar to end its support for Somali insurgents. Qatar denied the accusation.

“They understand they’re walking a tight rope and they have been able to get away with it because they have tended to the relationship and have tried to be useful when interests converge,” said Michael Hanna, an expert on the Middle East at the Century Foundation.

Among Qatar’s top foreign policy objectives has been to support the opposition in Syria, including through the provision of military aid. Some of that aid has reportedly been delivered to Islamist factions.
inst Americans. In 2009, Somalia’s then-president, Sharif Ahmed, told a top U.S. diplomat that Qatar was channeling financial assistance to al-Shabab via Eritrea, according to a U.S. diplomatic cable disclosed by WikiLeaks.”

Turkey famously kept open borders with ISIS controlled Syria in exchange for cheap oil . Turkey was the main route Isis would get its fighters in and out of Syria. All the cases you hear of Americans and Europeans going off to fight with ISIS in Syria all included flying to Turkey and then crossing the border

“Atam, who was a former Al Shabaab commander in Somalia’s northeastern semi-autonomous state of Puntland has been added to a new list of Qatar linked terrorists, using Qatari passports and direct funds from Doha.

He was the founder of Al Shabaab-affiliated branch in Galgala hills and staged years-long insurgency against Puntland state. Atam was responsible for various attacks against region’s security forces and assassinations in Bosaso.

Al Shabaab has dismissed the commander and replaced him with a new leader in charge of its operations in Galgala 2014. The move has forced Atam to flee to southern Somalia and joined a group led by Hassan Dahir Aweys.

The extremist has finally defected from his terror group following a fallout with slain leader Ahmed Godane over leadership row and surrendered himself to former Somali Federal Government led by Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.

Mohamud has sought an asylum for Atam from Qatar and flown to Doha in February 2016, where he is currently living, evading justice for the atrocity he has committed against the people of Somalia.”

You honestly believe that the u.s would want peace and stability in Somali? They are the ones who along with their Saudi friends fund alkelaab untill this day. All this talk of Turkey or Qatar supporting any insurgents in Africa is western propaganda to distance Africans from Turkey and Qatar.

“In 2013, 'Abd al-Rahman bin 'Umayr al-Nu'aymi ordered the transfer of nearly $600,000 to Al-Qaida (QDe.004) via an Al-Qaida representative in Syria, Abu-Khalid al-Suri (deceased), and intended to transfer nearly $50,000 more.

Al-Nu'aymi has facilitated significant financial support to Al-Qaida in Iraq (AQI) (QDe.115), and served as an interlocutor between AQI leaders and Qatar-based donors. Al-Nu'aymi reportedly oversaw the transfer of over $2 million per month to AQI for a period of time.

In mid-2012, Al-Nu’aymi provided approximately $250.000 for distribution to Harakaat al-Shabaab al-Mujahidiin leaders Hassan Dahir Aweys (QDi.042) and Mukhtar Robow (not listed), and intended to provide additional funding.”

Abdulrahman al-Nuaimi had been living out in the open despite having just been designated as a terrorist by his own country a month earlier.

On April 11, Qatari newspapers publicly congratulated Nuaimi on the wedding of his son in Doha. The wedding was attended by Qatar’s Prime Minister Abdullah al-Thani, a number of prominent Qatari personalities including current and former editors of Qatari newspaper and Khaled Meshaal, former political leader of Hamas Islamist group.
Nuaimi was designated as terrorist by the US government in December 2013 and the UN in September 2014 for providing financial support to terrorist organizations in the region.

The US Department of the Treasury said at the time that Nuaimi ordered the transfer of almost US$600,000 to al-Qaeda through its representative in Syria. He had also planned to transfer another $50,000 at a later time.

US intelligence also revealed that Nuaimi also financed al-Qaeda in Iraq back in 2001 by sending $2 mln per month to the organization for a year.

Furthermore, the US Treasury proved that Al-Nuaimi financed al-Shabaab militant group in Somalia after he had converted a quarter of a million dollars in mid-2012.“

Again you are seriously deluded. Even Qatar blacklisted the guy who was proven to fund Al Shabab , after years of denial. He’s in deep with the government even after being “blacklisted “ by his own government . Top Qatari officials even attended his sons wedding. Wake the f*ck up

I support Syrian Arab Army all day everyday and Turkey woke up after that failed coup everybody and their momma knows who funds terrorists waa Adeer Samatar :lolbron:

“Beginning in late 2013 and early 2014, Turkish border cities became the chief logistical hubs for foreign fighters seeking to enter Syria and Iraq to join the Islamic State and other rebel groups. By all accounts, foreign fighters from around the globe first traveled to Turkey and then on to Iraq and Syria, forming the backbone and striking power of the Islamic State. In 2013 alone, some 30,000 militants traversed Turkish soil, establishing the so-called jihadi highway, as the country became a conduit for fighters seeking to join the Islamic State. By August 2015, Turkey did eventually tighten up its borders and agree to engage in strike missions as part of Operation Inherent Resolve, but by then, the lion’s share of foreign fighters had already arrived in Iraq and Syria.”

After the fake coup??? Explain Turkey keeping open borders with ISIS then in exchange for cheap oil ?
Turkey did help ISIS knowingly to destroy Russia/Syria/Iran axis but when Adeer Sam orchestrated that flop coup they started following their own interest it was a wake up call for Erdogan

WikiLeaks has released a cache of thousands of personal emails allegedly from the account of senior Turkish government minister Berat Albayrak, son-in-law of the country's president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, which it says shows the extent of links between Mr Albayrak and a company implicated in deals with Isis-controlled oil fields.

The 60,000 strong searchable cache, released on Monday, spans the time period between April 2000 - September 23 2016, and shows Mr Albayrak had intimate knowledge of staffing and salary issues at Powertrans, a company which was controversially given a monopoly on the road and rail transportation of oil into the country from Iraqi Kurdistan. “

Erdogans own son involved in the oil trade with ISIS

Kkk next you guys will tell me Wikileaks which is the most anti American publication is really a front for the Americans :drakelaugh:

The fake coup was orchestrated by Erdogan himself just to get his enemy extradited from the US but it didn’t work. Erdogan purged the military and government of dissenters . He has single handedly ruined Turkeys education system and secularism

Glad you admit Turkey helped ISIS to hurt Syria. So did Qatar, so did UAE.l, So did Saudi and America.

I’m with Syria at least UAE and Saudi saw the error in their ways and decided to focus on the growing Iranian threat . It was mainly Turkey and Qatar doing the most damage to Syria. Turkey kept the open borders and treatment for fighters, Qatar provided most of the funding , Saudi provided the ideology , and UAE is not a main player in any of this they just provided logistics support
