FYI fatherlessness is linked to higher suicide rates, higher homicide rates and gang involvement among boys. So, absentee Aabos play a huge role in this.

Various studies connect absentee fathers with heightened sexual behaviour in girls.
Think about that for a bit.

Let me highlight two things:

A link or connection does not imply causation. Nor does it mean that one is absolved of personal responsibility just because they are experiencing less than favourable life circumstances. I will say that the father's place is important and if you want a thriving community in the West then they need them present and engaged. Old school forms of relaxed/ hands off parenting don't work.

Good Idea it was always my plan to go back permanently inshaAllah.

The things you mentioned don't depend only on the environment you were raised in, but the parents you were raised by.

If parents really care for their kids they become in most cases successful. Problem is many somali parents just produce kids but don't plan how to raise them properly.
