Somalilander tells it like it is. Hardly any progress after siyad bare

Add main projects build by outsiders like , Berbera port by UAE. Pepsi Company by Dijbouti.

PL in return Garcaad build and finance by reer PL.

By Garcad do you mean this?

There appears to be only a handful of equipment at the site, this is not a large project.

Puntland has been a state since 1998, what large-scale projects have you achieved?

We have been hearing about a single road to Ceerigaabo for close to 10 years now, and it is still not complete.

Meanwhile in Somaliland:

Largest Coca-cola plant in the region:

Largest mill in Somali territory:

Somaliland has a small but growing manufacturing, agricultural and logistics (Berbera) industries. Puntland has none of that, even water is imported from Somaliland.

Again you just prove my reply earlier, there is no Major project build and finance by SL without outsider.

Garcaad yes its in the first phase but we proud 100% work & finance are reer PL.

You proved him right. 100% owned and financed by Puntland. Ethiopia does not own 19% of this project.

This is not about Garcad being in the first phase, the project itself is a minor one with only a handful of equipment on site.

The projects I listed are Somaliland financed with the exception of Berbera. The Coca-cola plant was financed and owned by Somaliland tycoon Axmed Cismaan Geele Arab. The flour mills by Somaliland tycoons Al Harbi.

Puntland has no manufacturing, agricultural or logistics basis. You've been struggling with the road to Ceerigaabo for so many years and still cant get it past Badhan:

This is the state of the Puntland road as of October 2020, just a rough dirt road:

Meanwhile Somaliland started and nearly finished the Burco to Ceerigaabo road which is more than 5X the length of Ceel Doofaar to Ceerigaabo:

If you accepting Garcaad as PL self project and Berbera port funded and build by UAE, to me its good start!

Main point now is Coca-cola was funded by Ahmed Cismaan Geele Arab, right?. First fact the guy is djiboutian. Second fact all those was loan from Djbouti banks, even Guelleh family are part of investment. In the open ceremony Djibouti minster was there as evidence of what I mention here.

Last and not least Ceeldaahir to Ceerigaabo Road. Now we start second phase of the road. You can check on the Development Section.

Garcad is a small project, whether it has been financed by PL or not, it is not an impressive development to write home about.

Axmed Cismaan Geele Arab is the sole owner of the Coca-cola plant, the loan received was underwritten by his businesses and property in Djibouti.

How many years have you been building what is essentially a dirt road from Ceel Doofaar to Badhan? I am surprised such a small road is yet to be finished after all these years.

Compare that to the Burco to Ceerigaabo road and you will see the difference in capacity between the two sides.

This is a image is from 3 days ago, this is road you are talking about between Burco and Ceerigaabo and it appears a dirt road. When I looked it up on Google there appears to be no construction due to tribal warfare, so where is this capacity you have?

The road between Ceel Daahir and Badhan has been worked on for 3 years and the surfacing was planned this summer as opposed to the Ceerigaabo to Burco project that started in 2014 but still appears to be mostly dirt.

Garacad is $180 million dollar project that would be large especially given that it is fully owned and bought for by us. Ethiopia does not own a share unlike Berbera. The things you are bragging about would be akin to me posting pics of Bosaso or Garowe airports.

Three years?

It began in 2014, that is close to 7 years!

With regards to Garcad, its no where near $180 million. I strongly doubt its even $10 million, look at the scale of operation, number of equipment used, construction personnel.. etc, this is a very small project.

Eg97f1eXsAALeVS.jpg

To put things in perspective for you, everything you see in Berbera, from massive specialised equipment, to the number of construction personnel, deep dredging, mobile cranes, state-of-the-art port facilities, expansion of the port to becoming a regional hub ... all of that is costing only $101 million. This is just the first phase of expansion.

Once completed the second phase begins at a cost of $341 million.

There is simply no way something like Garacad costs more than the Berbera expansion, the single largest project in the post war history of Somaliland/Somalia.

The total cost of the project is $180 million, this is the first phase. You don't see dredging because the breakwater isn't finished and the concrete for the berth has not been poured.

Garacad is a new port, Berbera is an extension.

As for Ceel Daahir it started in late 2016 not 2014 or 2017, you are in no position to talk about that project when yours is not doing better.

The fact that its a brand new port being constructed from scratch actually means that there should be a lot more work done than a straightforward expansion. Building a whole new port to international standards is a massive operation. As an example, this is what 200 million new port construction should look like:

An-aerial-view-of-the-RoRo-site.gif

Very similar in scale to what is happening in Berbera:

Eebc6RNWsAI4PIZ.jpg

And yet Puntland wants us to believe this is a $180 million project:

Come on son.

As for the Ceerigaabo road:

P1RhExo.jpg

You can watch a drive through it filmed in July here:

As can clearly be seen, its mostly done bar small sections, the road reaches Yufle and Ceel Afweyn.

The much smaller Puntland road on the other hand is a dirt road that we've been hearing about since 2014:

Building ports more expensive than you think, Many investors went to Garcaad even Djbouti Government recently want share from it and you saying Small project ?

For Coca-Cola, Money was Loan came from Djibouti so this money are Djiboutian money not SL. That is why it called Loan.

Last and not least Sanaag road started from scratch but those you making faaan about it was build by the Kacaan. The Same Wadajiir corridor road.

Sanaag will soon be finish Inshalla.

Its most certainly a small project, I have explained why; the level of operation is no where near your claimed figure.

This discussion was a thinly-veiled attempt to attack Somaliland's progress. You attempted to inject PL as a comparison. Now, Somaliland's progress has ways to go, but it is quite obvious that its in a different league to PL.

I have showcased burgeoning manufacturing industry in Somaliland. You have already accepted that Puntland does not have the equivalent manufacturing, agricultural or logistical base.

I believe the discussion is over.

This is the deep sea port being build in Nigeria it is a 600 million dollar project, double the amount of the extension of Berbera.

Projects counts when it finish not in First phase or Second. Garcaad port didnt finish Phase one and you still saying its small project!!!.

Project need 4 to 5 years to finalized than we can compare it.

But Im surprise on how you making faan of on outsider money and projects in your land. It just prove my stand that you guys didnt build nothing from your money, only borrow and loans by outsider money. You just saying to me I have USA military to secure my country but you faan to the world I have power to defend my country. Those two things doesn't match.

Build your home by your money than show off to others about it.
