Most of the words we don't share are colonial loan words from either English or Italian, for things that did not exist in the Somali language before then ex: a fork, my family says fargetto my aunt says fawk. It doesn't mean much except we we're colonized by different people.

Most of the vocab differences between the regions are loan words which have replaced original Somali terms or were added because the term didn't exist in Somali. If we were to remove all loan words from English, Italian and Arabic we'd have very very few regional differences in vocabulary.
