I have always said that Siyaad went off the deep end after losing the war in Galbeed, and you will hear me say this repeatedly if you ever interact with Somali left spaces. But in my opinion the SNM (and all other clan groups operating in Ethiopia during the 80s) were bonafide terrorist organizations.

I won't lie and say that the ONLF were [atleast before the 2018 accords] not terrorists, indeed since the start of the 21st century people have moralized this word to death!

I supported all of their armed action, I supported the peace deal but over time I have lost faith in it (especially as the PP dictatorsgip blatantly does not care about it). Even the people of Ethiopia respect the ONLF because it fought the Woyane dictatorship from start to end.


Also you should support the ONLF, it is one of the last great nationalist parties in existence. If it achieves victory and declares independence (or joins up with other opposition groups in Ethiopia and creates a fully democratic Ethiopia) the standing of the Somali people as a whole will increase significantly.

The only group that considered the ONLF a terrorist group was the Ethiopian government. The United States and EU considered ONLF to be a legitimate political party.
