Somalia needs a re-branding. Like how some companies or brands change their name after a scandal.

Azania is a nice name. Let's take it, before South Africa takes it (some whispers that they want to change their name to Azania).
just call it somal without the ia

Azania sounds like Zania- sexual sinner ..

@Emily

You are a shameless Habesha, instead of just lurking, you have the nerve to add your useless opinion in the form of a "thumbs down" in a topic about Somali political and cultural affairs.

It's not in our best interests to have this public opinion. We live in a sea of bantus (Africa) and we also want to trade with them.

Treating our own Bantu somalis like shit will come back to bite us.

For example if we ever want to take back our lost territory we'll have most of Africa unite against us just for the spite.

Keep your power levels to yourself like most civilized folks.

It's not about mistreating people at all. Somalia has a growing population of non-ethnic Somalis, most recently from Arab countries. As you can see from the previous thread, they are even importing other madoow and a Berber to play in the football league.

We need to define who is a Somali ethnic, what Somali ethnic culture/dress is and preserve it using official authorities. For example, even the written Somali language has been corrupted by years of a lack of a government.

If we confuse/muddle who a Somali ethnic is, this can cause problems down the line.

How to divide Somalia more

When you fill out a census/form in your host nation, don't they make you write down/tick what your ethnicity is?

All European/Western nations keep a detailed record of who lives in their nation and what their origin is.

The only nation that doesn't protect its borders or identity is a broken nation, like Somalia.

Let's say Somalia settles down and starts becoming a developed nation, not clearly defining who is who, can cause problems when it comes to statistics, such as health issues, crime, education etc. I have already seen examples of people claiming to be something they are not.

Remember that Samiya Lerew lady who has a Habesha supremacy agenda? She already claims foreigners built Mogadishu and she has a political party in Somalia now...

Rebranding? :lolbron:
I'm 100% prosent sure that it would not work, companies can change its policies and products, but this is a country that would not change in 1 yr. Azania will get the same reputation as Somalia in just few years, our ppl are to make that happen. :westbrookswag:

You can have your own identity and still present yourself as a tolerant, welcoming people just like a lot of countries successfully do.

The Japanese and some North Europeans are seen as the nicest people but in reality they have their culture and identity in lock without making a big scene of it.

Let me expound further.

With the dangerous case of Samiya Lerew, she identifies ethnic Somalis as "nomads" and gives all civilised credit to non-ethnic Somalis but she makes sure not to tell the truth, which is

1. Who is really Somali
2. Who built Somalia.

This lady has supporters and a legitimate political party.

It's clear that more and more of these people will gain power and an audience and I guarantee that if this isn't stopped, legally, this will cause a big problem and even conflict.
