Eritrea and Ethiopia are both majority Christian. Why would it be in their interest to form a megastate with majority Muslim countries? The only way a state like this could function is if it was secular. Somalia can have Galbeed and Djibouti. Everything else is off limits

There are no recent figures. Only estimates. Within Eritrea it is probably 50/50 now due to the vast majority of migrants being Christian and the high birth rates amongst the Saho. Eritreans as a whole including the Diaspora is probably about 65% Christian
