Somalia’s Galmudug rejects deployment of AMISOM troops in region

The Council of Ministers in the Somali regional state of Galmudug have issued a number of new orders on security and reconciliation.

A statement from Chief Minister Sheikh Shakir, who doubles as the leader of the moderate Islamist group Ahlu Sunnah Wal Jama’ah, expressed concern about the faltering Galmudug reconciliation process.

“The Council of Ministers have agreed… to reassess the reconciliation process and ensure the Galmudug administration is part of the process,” the statement said.

The ministers also raised concerns about the recent Al-Shabaab attempts to influence electoral delegates in the region.

The statement termed the Al-Shabaab effort an attempt to infiltrate the upcoming Galmudug administration, adding that this should not be allowed.

“All evil acts by Al-Shabaab must be prevented, especially its attempt to have own agents in the new Galmudug administration.”

The ministers also rejected suggestions that African Union peacekeepers may be deployed in Dusamareb, saying current security measures were sufficient.

“The joint police and intelligence force currently maintaining security of Dusamareb is capable of ensuring security. There is no need for Amisom [African Union Mission in Somalia] forces,” says the statement

I am honestly shocked at this level of jealousy and xaasidnimo. Farmajo wants to turn the rest of the country into a playground for Al Shabaab and Amisom just because Gedo is like that. Acudubillah.

Farmaajo is doing all this so that the states won't be safe to have their chosen MPs represent them in the coming 2020/21 elections next year, Farmaajos game is to elect all the state MPs (like he did with KG state) in Mogadishu, which if he succeeds will guarantee his reelection bid in 2021.

You keep mention AY AUN every chance you get, the fact that you mention him is saying that nothing has progressed since and your boon adeer is riding AMISOM tank to Marka which is few KM from Xamar while AY was able to reach Baidoa. Foreign forces were always in the south, they are not needed in galmudug but for sure in southern Somalia sadly without them, you would be in flames and the failed SNA which you could have developed long time ago was busy raping, looting and shooting each other blame that on us too?

there was no galmudug back then, it's their job to clean them out why would AMISOM be necessary when they can take them on.
