NJ has more somali families than NY. They live in the suburbs and are very caadan but it’s still only a few families. I know 3. When I was younger, I met new immigrants who just came to the country but they would move to other states soon after. My parents probably know every Somali here. Most somalis who have moved here live in Brooklyn. They’re usually creatives.

The only ones that stay in LA are the ones that have decent jobs. Most of the Cali somalis live in San Diego which is like two hours away from LA.

NYC is expensive. Most somalis live in the other less expensive cities in New York like Buffalo.

Even though more of us are starting to break into the middle/upper class I don't think many of us will start moving into bigger cities.

Raising a family is cheaper and safer if you raise them in the suburbs.
