Who was responsible for signing the agreement in 2014 which is opposed by the Issa chiefs? And what has made the Afar so brazen in the recent history to point they can displace a large number of Somalis? Is it their organisation in comparison to the Issa?
Hmm, the way I understand it they seem to want most or all of Sitti but have only managed to control three districts so far. The fighting had been happening for years now and they haven't advanced much from their position.Depends on what the stated objectives are. If it is controlling those 3 districts that I described then the Afar still control all of it.

Ancestral territories kulaha. I'm willing to bet they are recent arrivals there much like how the French imported Afars into Djibouti.Sitti is too big for the Afar to want to take over. They're only interested in those 3 districts/settlements because they consider it their ancestral territories. The Ciise consider it traditional grazing territory. The Gurgura and Hawiye who also live near the Afar have no conflict with them. So the argument that they want Somali territory isn't really accurate.
Huh? Aren't Ogaden liyuu police fighting alongside the Isse now?Ancestral territories kulaha. I'm willing to bet they are recent arrivals there much like how the French imported Afars into Djibouti.
High respect for the Cisse however for holding their own against an entire ethnic group. These langaab Afars can only fight a single subclan when they have the backing of the federal government and ENDF. If only the Guragura and Hawiye would help their fellow Somalis then it would be over swiftly but alas qabil politics say otherwise.
I hate human beings they’re ungrateful creatures.Huh? Aren't Ogaden liyuu police fighting alongside the Isse now?
The Issa presence in those towns is not only due to grazing grounds. In fact, two of those towns grew of Issa trading hamlets from what I have read. The Issa were kicked out of Gadamaitu by the Ethiopian army in 1977 with the help of the Afar. The Issa then returned, only to be kicked out again.Sitti is too big for the Afar to want to take over. May Allah make it easy for the Somalis in Ethiopia. My friend who is Reer Baabili went to Jigjiga to do shopping. He was told that he will have a difficult time taking the items from K5 Jigjiga back to Baabili town in K4 due to regional border control. He decided to buy from the Harar kilil instead. He said there is no restriction of movement between Harar to Oromia or any other region for that matter except when your coming from K5. They are extra suspicious of Somalis. He went Afdheer Iimey and was shocked to see the lack of roads compared to other regions. No infrastructure, strict border controls etc is a recipe for disaster. The Liyuu police can't even secure land few kilometres from Jigjiga that has seceded to Oromia and Sspoters would have you believe they can fight and secure territory in the Afar border?
So all Afar forces unite and attack a single Somali clan, and the other Somali clan is not fighting with their brothers because it’s not their land that is being attacked?Sitti is too big for the Afar to want to take over. That is qabiliyaad in a nutshell. So all Afar forces unite and attack a single Somali clan, and the other Somali clan is not fighting with their brothers because it’s not their land that is being attacked?yeah we Somalis are finished people.

They don’t speak the same language and some how are related.
The Afar economically and militarily besieged these Somali-settled towns for a while before attacking and capturing the towns.
This was a obviously a coordinated and long term plan by them to capture and ethnically displace the Somali community from the towns situated on railway route.
But who cares, it is just a squabble over some “grazing grounds” and the Afar/Issa are apparently more “related to each other”. That is the level of gaslighting going on here.
