One ummah is a logical concept theres nothing wrong with the idea but in 2022 every nation is watching out for their own people and their own nation. The somali one ummah followers are just naive people who think other nations care about them.

Our ancestors did it best, they fought for and were among the first to accept Islam, Somalis were so formidable that if we didn't exist, I truly believe East Africa and the Horn would have been overrun by Christians. We did all this for our dheen, however, there was no veneration of Arabs, or anyone for that matter, something even the Colonial powers had to admit and eventually respect us for.

I I believe muslim brotherhood to some extent but not an all united Ummah.. If there was a unity between Muslims it would be good, but this doesn't exist. My people Somalis come first and everything else is second, this is the rules every people/nation follow

Well the political scene is different. Politicians make a lot of decisions that are sometimes not what’s best for their nation or people. We don’t know what secret deals are made for self-interest purposes. I wouldn’t call that an ummah thing entirely. Lol what anyone names their kid is their business. You got a ajnabi lady out here named Somalia so I don’t put anything past parents.
Some people care about those Muslim places due to their faith in Allah not because of anything else. We are like one body as the Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم told us in the famous hadith. People empathize with Muslims being oppressed and wish they had justice and safety.
Do we need other people to care about Somalia for us to care about our brothers and sisters being oppressed in other lands? The idea of a strong love of wadankeena iyo dadkeena isn’t fostered in many youth besides the show of pride on national holidays. This is a parenting and a lack of education issue. Everyone should have the mentality of becoming the change in Somalia by coming with ways to better our current condition ourselves.
I’m not an Arab hater or a major lover of them so I only see them as other Muslims like any other group. I judge people as individuals for the most part so I can’t lump everyone together.
I get some people are jaded by current and past events and want to distance themselves from the idea of the United ummah to focus solely on our own affairs. It’s a dog eat dog world out there so I completely get where you’re coming from. I can understand the sentiment however we shouldn’t let that affect us to our core. The ummah may not be as united now since there are many players working against that besides Muslims. But that doesn’t mean that’s not the goal long-term.
Why let the way others operate affect us negatively? If someone is doing wrong, should we copy them? Judge each person as an individual and not as a representative of the whole group. May Allah guide us all to the haqq.

Lets say we had an ummah, who and from where would it be ruled? Also keep in mind Islam beside many ethnic groups consists of many different sects and I do judge people as a group after all we are divided into groups, ethnicities etc.. So why should I be blind of my enemies or those who hate us because I'm supposed to follow an ideology "ummah" and ignore my peoples enemies etc.. You see where I'm coming from? Have you seen how they treat our own kind in Libya, Yemen and Saudi Arabia...these arabs would treat you worse than their donkey and you are telling me we have to ignore it and let it slide because of a non existing "ummah"?
You start with your house, then your neighbors, then your street, then your village, then your city, then your nation and then the wider Ummah. Charity truly starts at home. A man that is not in control of his own home, cannot help others and nor will others respect his help. Hence, i'm all for Somalis prioritizing Somalis and Somalia.
However, calling 'my Ummah' an ideology that you can dismiss is dangerous. This is what our Prophet s.a.w says so it isn't even something us Somalis who are Muslim should be debating. Lets not complicate matters. As Somalis we should put our nation first, why? Because we're no use to the wider Ummah if we don't prioritize ourselves and I think every Muslim should try to fix their homeland first and foremost before and only then can we help each other.

Perhaps you are mistaking the terms here. Did you mean an islamic caliphate instead of ummah. With or without one islamic state/ruler, we are an ummah. No getting around that fact. No matter how much people ran away from the larger Muslim community.
I in no way support oppression from any group towards any group. The fact that it’s Muslims doing that to Somalis makes it even worse. I know all Arabs aren’t bad just like we can’t generalise all the people in any other group. Would you like it if someone generalized about all Somalis? I didn’t say let anything slide, did I? That would just be plain moronic.
I’m saying keep in mind we have enemies as a people but we should still help Muslims who are in need of help as much as possibly. That doesn’t mean neglect our own people. It’s a given that we help our own people first before helping people in far off lands. We can do both.
Never understood why you can't be both. No one would bat an eye if an Iranian said he was a nationalist. Or an Indonesian. Yet for some reason, some of us in the Somali community believe being a Muslim and having a sense of pride for your nation cannot be done in the same time.

I wasn't talking about arabs on a personal level but the way they treat our people who seek refuge in their countries are treated worse than animals.. You shouldn't turn that to the blind eye.. How are you going to unite with this kinda people/nations?
Somalis are very welcoming especially if you are an arab.. This is not good our people are too naive and trusting.
If you notice I never mentioned or indicate you shouldn't help other Muslims in need.. But good we agree, your own should always come first and everyone else is second priority in that.. But of course as Muslims we should help each other and back each other up on international level..

This is what I'm saying and of course we should respect other and help other Muslim groups, but we shouldn't be naive to the point we forget our own people and nation and consider every Muslim like our own.. Some Muslims nations/countries are worse than the gaalo countries when it comes to racism and they way they treat our people.. Previously I used to be very naive and believed ummah and Islamic unity and khilafah state was the best solution until I discovered how nationalistic and how evil some or most of the so called Islamic countries are.. They are all out there for their own gain and interest. It is every man for himself.
We are at an impasse. Let’s end this here as we have two very different viewpoints and it’s unwise to go in circles.
