I wouldn't know. What I was saying is IDK if its bc of FGM that she's scared of seeing a dx, or bc of plain shyness. It could even be that she has a specific reason/complication she wants to have it checked out for, but is too scared to.

I would view ppl who say "I don't know if I have it" as ppl who actually don't have it.

The truth is that these girls are getting it done by uneducated women who destroy their nether regions to varying degrees leading to different kinds of complications. Period issues, peeing issues, fistulas, infections, trouble birthing, etc. Try to imagine years of periods and pees being forced through the same tiny, scarred opening. It's unnatural. I've even heard of women that are newly married going to dx to have it undone bc its impenetrable by normal means due to sewing it down to an incredibly minuscule opening. But my understanding,
it can be reversed and tgirls and women are getting it undone postnatally or pre, because many women actually can't give birth with it in tact either.

I agree that there's a lot of degrading Somalis on this site but that's literally the title of her video,

You should msg that girl to either stop clickbaiting ( I didn't watch the video) or for the sake of Allah change the title to something less disturbing and more informative and respectful.

I have no doubt that more ppl will continue to talk about their nether regions as the practice continues. I even believe they have a right to. Somalis are a catalyst source for foreign governments making laws on this practice. Put down your pride and take that in for a sec.

It's [poorly] manmade.

There are two openings for a reason, one is the urethra and the other the vagina. Nature got that right! FGM makes it so that the excretions coming out of both back up to enjoin into a shared circumsized enclosure before coming outside a shared opening. A lot of times the man-made opening doesn't even align with the vagina, so sex causes the woman immense pain, and the guy can't get through it and needs dx help to open, she may endure that only for it to later on hold back the exit of the baby she's pushing out.

It's incredibly inhumane in my eyes. I really don't get these ppl who cry about ppl talking about their "sils" It's really not your problem. If you're embarrassed, imagine how they must feel or stfu.

If we were to believe every girl in Somalispot doesn't have fgm claim, fgm would be non-existent in the Somali community.

Not all of us deny having it, but its understandable why some females do deny it. Its not something to make jokes about and take easily. I have it, its unfortunate but i'm not ashamed enough to lie about it as its not my fault.
