Am I one of the few Somalis who genuinely understands the value of privacy and handling matters discreetly and calmly?
I understand recording someone for evidence , that’s sensible. But what I don’t understand is turning around and uploading that footage to social media instead of taking it directly to the police or filing a formal complaint. That kind of move isn’t about justice , it’s about going viral. And it often backfires.
Even worse, why would you do that when you have serious allegations or a criminal record attached to your name that the public can easily look up? You're not helping the cause , you're dragging it through the mud and bringing unnecessary attention to yourself.
Maybe that guy just has nothing to lose , no sense of privacy, no dignity, no life to protect or maybe he’s just another attention-hungry fool.
But let’s be real, you didn’t fight racism. You tanked your own reputation and gave a racist criminal crackhead a platform and viral fame and now even wealth. All for what? A few likes and outrage clicks? You could’ve just told her off and moved on with your day.
Somalis should learn from this. Value your privacy. Stop chasing attention online. Not everything needs to be a public outcry or a trending hashtag. Handle things quietly, legally, or brush it off. Don’t let clowns and bigots control your mood or your future.
