I didn't deny anybody the claim to reason, I just demand that they back it up. You can't believe in flying horses and claim to be rational.

Nowhere did I claim that atheists are the only rational human beings because they believe in the theory of evolution. Are you serious mate?? Why are you putting things in other people's mouths.

I did not judge anyone badly because they believed in god, I just challenged them to verify their beliefs with evidence.



This thread is titled "Somali atheism on the rise" and I am a Somali atheist, I think I have every right to drop my opinions here.

I'm repeating ignorance?? What ignorance is that?? If I tell people to verify their beliefs in the supernatural, am I repeating ignorance??

I am not putting anything in your mouth, it is what you stated and implied.. You have a nag for being disingenuous as a group. You repeated the same mantra in this post yet you are wondering why I said what I said.

As for your challenge, take it somewhere else. Plus I haven't seen anyone express sadness for you leaving Islam. Many have said it was not meant for you so fucking beat it.

Are you bothered? you repeated the phrase "move on" twice if I am not mistaken. I am trying to get the hang of your way of writing and to avoid misreading your thoughts expressed in your words. In my neck of the woods, we tell others to move on when we are not interested in talking to them. I am for not bothering anyone if they feel that way.

I know you didn't address me with the conformity comment. I realized there was an opportunity to clarify that conformity is what we practice as human beings whether we believe in god or not. It is human to conform.

I also don't know whether you meant to say thousands of Muslims leave Islam in their own countries. So, if you are not bothered already. and you can clarify if that is what you meant, it would be great.

I was pointing out @Inquisitive_ flawed argument that ex muslims mainly leave the religion to conform to western values and traditions I provided apostasy in muslim countries as a counter argument.

Hi all. I'm new to this forum and would like to ask the Mohamedians, are there choices in Islam? Is Allah lying when he says, he will punish severely all those who disbelieve in him? if not, why get so upset with the disbelievers and have the urge to do Allah's job?

Let's turn the tables and ask, Muslims believe in predestination and Allah guides whom he wills, isn't it his fault that he didn't guide us to become all rounded believers. Finally, who did we inherit Islam from? Was that early ancestor smarter and more knowledgeable than us today?

It was a joke too in what I said about submissiveness. It is true people who don't believe in higher power replace God with something else they worship among those replacemnts:

- Self
- Other humans
- Wealth
- Monkey theory

Just about anything to fill the hole in their heart that needs to be filled. As for my advise to others interested in particular subjects like Evolution and Predestination, both were addressed. they are posing the same questions that were responded to.

I am saving time for other Somalis by responding to the monotony and ignorance so others don't have to waste their time. If anyone wants to interject and say something, they are more than welcome.

This is repetitive and there is no sincerity in this crowd in their majority. I see demands on people who are minding their business and who came here to socialize with other Somalis being asked to justify their beliefs. Really?

Could you provide evidence that I have implied that?? Nobody repeated anything, you're just putting words in our mouths and then calling us disingenuous when we reject your implication. Provide evidence!!

If it wasn't meant for me that would imply that it's intentional which would rebuke the idea of free will but you're one of those people who wants to make claims but get pissed when others demand evidence for them. I don't have any hold on reason but at least I try to provide evidence for my claims.

We already had those discussions with them but it was futile. Muslims (religious people generally) don't want to be challenged on what they believe.

You can check how I responded to others who were civil and respectful. I am fair to people when I can see their sincerity. Raamsade was very reasonable and brotherly in presenting his argument, I even called him "brother" in that thread because I have a connection to him as a Somali. I stated many times how I am not bothered by a choice someone makes. I am looking for honesty and people not to claim they understand what they are criticizing if they don't. Often atheists claim they have read the entire Quran and they know Islam more than Muslims. Only to see how ignorant they are of it in their discussions.

I can help someone in my own way and ability for them to see things how I see it, and then it is for them to decide if that presentation is reasonable. I don't see such attitude from others in here.

Even though I would not celebrate someone's lack of faith because I believe it is good for them ultimately, I understand it is not meant for everyone. Faith is a gift in of itself in my view and that if one has it, should strengthen it, and if they don't should find it, and if they did but dropped it that to be their choice. For the latter to come around and claim they did so because they are smarter and make some other obviously stupid comments, then that calls for equal derision.

One has to earn respect if they want to be respected.

I never claimed that I left Islam because I am smarter, I claimed I left Islam because rationally speaking it made sense to me and I have articulated these reasons on the religion section many times. One could challenge me on this and I'm open to debate but I'm tired of this inferiority complex where by if someone claims that your views are irrational you assume they believe they're better than you. I'm not smarter or better than anyone, I am simply articulating the position that Islam isn't rational by presenting its teachings and asking questions. When I state that the belief in flying horses is irrational, I am not positioning myself as being smarter, I am simply articulating that there is no evidence that this has occurred and if there is no evidence for it, it is irrational. Of course, I'm open to disagreement.
