Isn't that Ge'ez

Ge'ez honestly wouldn't be a terrible script. Somalis would just never go for it due to its origins. But, to be fair, it's also a syllabary which is unnecessarily complicated compared to a straight alphabet. Alphabets are the best, frankly. Just have your however many letters and string together the words more or less phonetically unless you're English.
