Should child marriage be banned in Somalia?

I already wrote about this in a previous thread. Early marriage is associated with poverty and its high prevalence economically stiffles.
There are plenty of other Muslim nations with legal age limits for marriage without consent. And many MENA nations with a few exceptions have a lower prevalence of marriage before age 18 than Somalia.

Imagine getting angry at people for being poor and telling them not to get married or have children. Look, the people to blame are the government and the people who destroyed it.

Imagine marry a awowwe who cannot satisfy you (which is an actual issue in marriage, since marriage helps prevents zina) and probably already has ED. Imagine having desires and can't even vent nowhere. Imagine marrying an old man that's about to get sick soon. Imagine instead of having a happy marriage with a peer your age, you're gonna have to play nurse soon. Imagine becoming a step mom to kids older than you. Imagine that you're about to be a widow soon. Imagine having to split that old man's money with other wives and his old ass children and only getting a little. And if she's really unlucky, Imagine becoming a widow with a child to feed with no backup. Sound like hell.....
Doesn’t make sense since we know throughout Islamic history Mubah (permissible) were disallowed for a bit and EVEN now, governments do this.
I’ve never understood how a lot of the laws we have in Muslim countries actually disallow things that are completely halal in fiqh yet it’s child marriage everyone wants to persevere.
Watching Qadhis very detailed video in which he looks at the history and fiqh in detail was eye opening.
As someone who fully supports and endorses, young women marry older men.
I will be the first to admit there are limits to what is acceptable and this is not. I consider this child abuse.
Most girls married to out of shape old farts like these, end up divorced with kids at 16 or 19. When the whole child theme wears off and they finally become women.

In many other societies, divorce is limited and taboo, but in Somali society many of these girls end up divorced and in many cases, a father that has married off his daughter to feed one extra mouth ends up having to now feed a daughter and a grandchild.

Mostly happens to poor families, I personally know well off businessmen who married off their daughters at 15 and younger. The #1 problem is the culture, it even trumps religion in some issues. We have one of the most misogynistic societal structures on earth.

Surprisingly when I went to visit (this is anecdotal) but the young married couples in the meey were around the same age. The boys were usually around 3-4 years older.
Somalis have a very open culture with divorce. We have one of the highest single mother rates in the Muslim world... (in Somalia, not in the diaspora)!

basically means if the husband is old enough to be her father then he certainly is the ideal spouse.

I use to think when Somali men talked about going back home and marrying a young girl it was a joke.
