Saudi Arabia and Qatar pledge to support Somalia

Apparently not. I even asked the OP what prompted the pledge. I now realise she made this thread to 'counteract' the other thread about Arabs and racism. Unbelievable.

If you follow Somali history and news you would know that gulf Arab were pouring money in Somalia since 70s. It is nothing new here and Saudi itself poured 10 millions $ during Ogaden war. It Just shows you never followed any Somali news just for last 3 months these people were helping Somali famine from Kuwait to tiniest country there. Even Kuwait with no strings attached they gave away 50 millions $ from government and Kuwait people collected 10 millions $.

The lengths they go to defending arabs is insane. Horta why is it only Somalis that suck up to Arabs the most, other muslim majority ethnicities, i.e Turks, Persians, Kurds don't seem to have this problem & haven't fallen for the "one ummah" trick?
:cosbyhmm:

It's not just Somalis, but Pakistanis/Bengalis also... so we're not alone I guess. The Persians is for obvious religious reasons. In the same way South-Asians and Somalis look up to Arabs, many Afghans and other Shias look up to Iran.

Turkish people have a strong, stable and good country. They are by far the most nationalistic group of people I've ever come across. I was in Rotterdam in March and they were protesting for solidarity in the NETHERLANDS. They're such an insignificant figure to the Turks back home, but yet they were very invested nonetheless. You could even argue they have a historically justified distaste for Arabs. As for the Kurds, I have no idea runti.

At no point have denied them pouring money into Somalia. They're not the only ones though, how much money do you think the West and the international community put in? I still don't see anyone going to great lengths to defend them unconditionally. In fact, barring Yemen, the overwhelming number of Somalis reside in the West. As recent as a few years 10k+ Somalis were held in atrocious conditions prior to being mass deported out of KSA.

No strings attached? Caqligada isticmaal. I have no doubt there has been sincere and useful input from Carabaha, but they're not here to save us for us out of this special brotherly bond you seem to think we have. There's nothing wrong with us discussing injustices in the ME.

Because i am? Arabs should spend their money where it matters. You have folks thrashing arabs day in day out on here. You have corruption all over the place. The arabs could do well spending their money on syrian refugees than ungrateful somalis.

There is a reason why millions of Syrians walked thousands of miles to reach Europe and didn't even bother to reach gulf countries

I've seen many trolls on the internet, but it's the somali trolls that are beyond cringy :ohlord:

I've got tremendous respect for the Turks, their nationalism is on par with Russian nationalism its amazing, they'll always put the interests of their people above everyone else & keep Turkey Turkish. The Turks have managed to separate the religious identity from their ethnic identity, this enabled Turkey to bring a sense of brotherhood amongst their people regardless of religous affiliation & not be played by outside powers, such as the arabs. Most Somalis would still take a non-Somali muslim over a Somali non-muslim as their brother...our nationalism is very weak unfortunately.

West you mean UK that divided Somalia to 3 countries, or USA who funded warlords in Somalia and forced Ethiopia to invade Somalia. Or EU that are supporting Amisom who are raping Somali girls. Am I suppose to thank them ? Listen west are helping the refugees out of guilt not charity.

I view other fellow muslims as brothers as well sxb, but to hate on Somali gaals that still respect our values & culture is simply absurd sxb.

Wallee, you are through-and-through Arab... The West has alternative agendas, but the noble Arabs don't. Arabization is one hell of a drug

let me guess, you're isaaq? The well being of Somalia pains you, doesn't it?

Actually no. I am one of those rare issaq boys who didn't agree with the initial rebellion against the country with the formation of the SNM.
Curse the day fellow somalis started working habeshis against somalis. Even as someone as crazy as siad barre. Nothing pisses me off than seeing an ethopian embassy in somaliland.

I am where i am today due to the hospitality, kindness and support of arabs for a large part of my life. There are good and bad in every race. My own included. It's why i will defend the name of arabs where it is warranted and criticise people where it's due

Sadly we somalis forgot to distinguish who is our friend and who is our enemy. Who wishes best for us and who is the snake. It's why after decades of siad barre being dead we are still in chaos.

South Asians bootyclap arabs more than we do. Even Malaysian and Indonesian muslims claim arab lineage.
Turks are traditionally nationalistic and secular but even that is changing and they're shifting towards islamism.
Kurds naturally hate arabs because arabs occupy 1/2 of their land and have commited genocides against them.

How? Yes we have some bootyclappers but we are far from completely arabised.
We still retain our culture, language and identity. The average Somali is proudly Somali.
The current conflict in our country means people have shifted towards fundamentalism and cultural repression but tha
Meanwhile Sudan is a country that I would call arabised. They speak Arabic and there is no remnats of their indigenous culture. They are black but call themselves Arab and are ashamed of their race.
Yes Somalis mistakingly claim arab lineage but MANY muslim groups do too. Even Senegalese and Hausa Muslims claim arab lineage.
We are far from the worst.

No way we are at the top with Pakistani's, at least with them they can sometimes pass as one too:drakekidding:
We dont even have arab blood:chrisfreshhah:
I've seen so many sudanese that hate the arab label too and call themselves african

@Beja can fill us in

"No remnants of their indigenous culture"

First of all, Sudan isn't a homogeneous country

Second of all, there are still hundreds of languages spoken in Sudan, Sudanese Arabic itself is completely different from standard Arabic, whenever we speak to Arabs in our dialect they can barely understand us...

Ashamed of our race??? Wow you know all 40 million Sudanese people so let me just hush up since you're the expert here.

Yes, alot of Sudanese on twitter always talk about how they hate Arabs while some claim they're Arab. It's a mixed bag really.

I see the ones that claim they hate Arabs more loudly and forward than the ones that claim Arabs , but maybe the latter dont go on about it every day
