HJ having a higher population than the 2 Harti clans expecially Warsangeli is hilarious. I’m guessing this is the Somaliland election results? :childplease:

Using Somaliland election results to gauge the Harti majority population of Sanaag is faulty and shouldn’t be taken serious. WarsangelI as a sub clan is the most numerous in Sanaag.

HJ MPs received the highest number of individual votes, of the top 7 spots in terms of votes, only one was taken by HY, the rest were all HJ:
  1. cumar jamac (4,308)
  2. salax maxamed (3,455)
  3. khadar ali hakiin (3,352)
  4. siciid giire (3,248)

Sanaag was always dominated by Isaaq. Go and check the 1961 referendum, the HJ NUF party dominated the Sanaag votes. Warsangali and minority Dhulbahante combind made up 39% of the vote. This is with the largest Somaliland party SNL boycotting the vote, had the SNL voted Harti would have received an even smaller share of the Sanaag vote.

Was the 1961 vote rigged too?

This map shows that 60 % of Erigabo(Sanaag) voted no on the 1961 referendum, nothing to do with clans. The majority of people who voted for no, may have been Harti.

Abtirsi of Biciide (HJ):

  1. Bi'ide
  2. Son of Yonis
  3. Son of Barre
  4. Son of Abdirahman
  5. Son of Muse
  6. Son of Abokor
  7. Son of Jibril
  8. Son of Abokor
  9. Son of Muse "Jelo"
  10. Son of Sheikh Ishaq

Abtirsi of Muuse Ismaaciil (HY):
  1. Muse
  2. Son of Ismaeil
  3. Son of Arre
  4. Son of Sayid Saeid "Habar Yonis"
  5. Son of Ismaeil "Habar Garhajis"
  6. Son of Sheikh Ishaq

Biciide, a sub sub sub sub clan of HJ produced more votes than Muuse Ismaacil which is equivalent to all of Muuse Abokor combined. Imagine being both the youngest clan in the region as well as the largest clan in the region!

Look again at the results. Harti areas voted resoundingly yes e.g. Las Anod (82% yes), while Isaaq areas voted resoundingly no e.g. Burco (66% no). Ceerigaabo being majority Isaaq voted exactly how you would expect (60% no).

The majority of Warsangeli may have voted no, whereas a lot of the Habar Yoonis may have voted yes. Nothing conclusive, you are just speculating.

You will have to provide evidence for your statements. I have done so above, predominantly Isaaq areas voted no, while predominantly Harti and Dir areas voted yes. Ceerigaabo being Isaaq majority voted exactly like one would expect.

If you have any evidence showing Warsangali voting no or HY voting yes do share it.

Firstly, the validity of this entire election is in doubt because a small town in Southern Somalia(wanlaweyn) voted more than the entire Somaliland region.

But lets assume there were wasn’t any election fraud(which I doubt). Lasanod district includes Caynabo which is majority Isaaq, so let’s assume that Harti voted similarly to Dir(96 % yes, 4 % no). Isaaq regions voted 30 % yes and 70 % no. Ceerigabo in the 1960s referred to Sanaag, not the district. 9970 people voted in Sanaag, 3950 yes and 6019 no.

You stated that the 39 % of yes votes in Sanaag are all Warsangeli and Dhulbahante.

Warsangali and minority Dhulbahante combind made up 39% of the vote.

But actually, only 13 % of votes in Sanaag would be Harti, whereas 87 % would be Isaaq. This is obviously false. Either the entire election results are fabricated, or in Sanaag people didn’t vote along clan lines because according to the 2014 UNFPA population estimates, Warsangeli alone are at minimum 43 % of the population of Sanaag.

In 1961 Ceerigaabo voted exactly like Berbera, Burco and other Isaaq majority towns, if you are going to claim otherwise we need evidence, which you do not seem to have.

Come back when you find one instead of derailing the thread.

Harti aren't majority in Sanaag with most populace being HY/HJ areas only in sool Dhulbahnte make up the majority

Northern Hartis voted for Yes cuz they supported SYL based on clan kinship as the former Harti/Samroon party USP merged with SYL and Isaaq dominated SNC campaigned for NO vote

Are you blind?

All the votes come from a sub sub sub sub clan of Muuse Sh. Isaxaaq, waa Biciide iyo Uduraxmiin oo weheliya :hemad:

You have no excuse sxb, dont be a sour minority and claim you did not register, all subclans registered as many voters as they could. And HJ Biciide proved to be the majority clan of Sanaag.

You do realise the election in Eastern Sanaag was "boycotted" right?
Given the fact Las Khorey District is the only district in Somaliland that has no elected local councillors....
On the plus side ballot we're casted for the the first time in Eastern Sanaag like in Dhahar but it's small sample.Keep in mind it's the presidential elections next so we'll get more voter registrations in Eastern Sanaag.

most residents of JSL didn't register and also you guys are just coalition who can't stand up to sub sub clan of reer sheekh isaxaq :drakelaugh:

Forget about bari sanaaq since warsangeli defected to PL and they run Las qorey

How is Biciide a coalition?

In Sanaag, only Biciide and Udaraxmiin, both from Muse Sheekh Isaxaaq, number more than all of HY of Sanaag.
