Sanaag Developments + CeelDahir- Ceerigaabo Highway

And we still don't have a road connecting Burco to Ceerigaabo. Puntland ha iska qaadato Ceerigaabo iyo Las Caanod, walaahi.

Unfortunently the residents of Sanaag , Puntland controlled went from being a sultunate to the poorest region in the North.

Unlike other parts of the North I have hardly seen any main development. Infact most of the money is siphoned into useless projects, for instance why bother spending 10 million $ on a university in Badhan when primary school is hardly affordable.

The Eastern Sanaag mountains is perfect for large scale farms yet the region often suffers from food shortages.

Never understood why Somalis back home use the money for useless things like expensive hotels and apartments that 98% of the population can’t afford with the money we should be fixing water problems housing issues etc smh

Its corruption, why spend 10 million on a University when people are largely illiterate. We should've invested in agriculture, it would yield large returns.

It’s more then corruption at this point wouldn’t be surprised if someone is telling them to do such things cuz no Somali in their right mind would mess over their people like that especially when you see their struggles everyday

Or even trade schools that teach students how to work in mechanics, plumbing, agriculture of course and IT training. A flashy university that most can't afford and may not improve their future prospects or local economic development is a silly investment for all.

What's funnier is that you have people from the diaspora sharing such photos and calling it development :heh:

Fatima Jibrell is from Sanaag/Bari and she has an NGO that trains people from that region. In fact, not long ago, ladies from Sanaag were trained to become mechanics.

Far from the poorest. The people west of the capital, who will use our roads are.

Sanaag is not the really poor

The farmers of Cal Madow make a confortable living and sell their fruit and veg in the Bosaso market. The only problem is lack of roads.

This Project was funded by Kuwait. Somalis did not have a lot say. Badhan University.
Garowe Airport, Bosaso Airport are most successful foreign funded Projects in Puntland since,
the collapse of the Somali Government in 1991.

Despite the high level of corruption in Somalia, luck of hierarchy and organisation because
of individualism is exacerbating the situation. Most People in Somalia and even the Diaspora are not thinking and doing things collectively, that's why Development is lagging or slow.
