Just so everybody gets a sense of how big wind power
alone is in Somalia I've done some math.
By covering just
3.35% (6025 square km) of Galmudug & Puntland combined area with wind farms, it would generate enough electricity to give
13 million Somalis the same about of energy that
an average Norwegian uses per year, and Norwegians use a shit ton per capita (top 5 in the world) as Norwegians use electricity for everything from warming water to electric stoves. This is of course too much energy for any Somali in Somalia no matter the living of standard but it goes to show you the potential for renewable energy in Somalia. And this is with windpower alone using the areas of Galmudug and Puntland.
