Puntland President sets stage for high-level meeting on country's issues

We should always strife on for Somali unity, choose your words carefully sis but I understand what you meant was we shouldn't be blind and naive in our strife for unity, that kinda approach would be bound to fail... No Somali of pure blood is against Somali unity.
We kept pushing the Somaliweyn dream from SYL to TFG and all we get from Somaliweyn is cuqdad and people who don’t want see you succeed. Let them sort out their problems and anyone that’s not happy with the way Puntland are handling things can take their tuulo to wherever they want. No more babysitting.

Listen bro, we are not against Somali unity or building a strong Somali state and it's also not our fault the political system is based on qabiil in Somalia.. As the situation currently is centralizing the power in one place won't solve anything or make Somalia better in any form or shape..I mean none of us have even heard of what is the federal governments vision for the people and the country? I see HSM is always traveling abroad to meet with foreign states but I've never seen him travel internally to any of the federal Somali member states and meet with the citizens and present to them the governemnts vision for the country and people.. I really don't understand what you're problem with us is apart from just being prejudice towards PL and it's people.

The FGS is not really a Federal Government. They believe in centralism and none of their power or resources comes from the FMS so why would they meet with them? The FGS's goal is to build it's power through foreign support - particularly military and financial support so if and when the time comes they can assert their authority on all of Somalia through military means.

Doesn't matter, we will still have Bari, Nugaal and half of Mudug that will be dominated by Majeerteen for example. Then we will have the other regions that will be dominated by one clan in particular. It doesn't matter what the system is, nobody can change the fact that qabiils are large families, and every family owns a certain plot of land.

"Nationalists", don't even understand the country they are acting Nationalist about.
This is why Somalia failed and continues to fail. The secularists, nationalists, republicans etc fail to accept reality and want to force a foreign system on us. If we formed a United Somali Emirates in 1960 based on the original clan boundaries when the Italians came, we would be a developed country by now

Nationalists are the only people with some sense because they are anti-qabil which is 100% the biggest issue facing the country. Having Emirati style clan boundaries would not gurantee development since Emirates and other tribal Gulf nations are only developed thanks to oil. Having clan boundaries would only reinforce qabil which needs to be eradicated at all costs.

Actually Somalis are incredibly entrepreneurial and successful when they don't have to deal with politics and they don't have access to welfare. Qabiil is a part of the Somali cultural fabric and that will never change. You guys need to learn to accept it and embrace it

There are some here who are advocating for nationalism and a united republic, all the while advocating for tribal federalism. Hypocrisy at its finest, the federal system in Somalia is a tribal one. One that will see the country remain in stagnation for the foreseeable future but here there are people who are advocating for it. Keep in mind this system has never worked in the 21 century.

and that will never change.
It can change. The reason why qabil is so rampant right now is because the government is weak and doesn't help its citizens at all. This lack of trust is what causes Somalis to rely on their qabil for a sense of security which then causes conflicts with other qabils because again, there is no law and order the government can enact since they are too weak.

Virtually every ethnic group was tribal before the modern age. The Japanese, Italians, Germans, Turks, Arabs, Finns, ect all constantly engaged in clan or state based conflicts all the way up until the modern age where one group finally dominated the others or they all collectively agreed to unite. Clannism isn't natural whatsoever for a nation state thus it needs to be gotten rid of if we want to see development.

Of course, I am aware the some nationalists are only using the ideology to hide behind their own tribalism or to push a qabil based system but I don't believe most are like that.

Ulusow will ignore it and rightfully so. Deni is on his own.

Even mps deni handpicked in bosaso and garowe that are now in mogadishu aren't even helping him.

Ulusow already bought them off. They tow the line and will vote whatever ulusow demands them. Either that or a bullet right between their beady eyes.

Do you believe the government is getting stronger?

I’ve been up and down Somalia recently and the only place that has any semblance of governance is Puntland.

This ‘Somali weyn/Unity’ mindset needs to be dropped asap. It benefits only the corrupt. I rather have successful ‘clan enclaves’ than for all of Somalia to be united but chaotic. Everybody needs to focus on your gobol.

If Deni becomes president the best thing he can do is reinforce the federal system and make it so that it can’t be amended.
