Good to see PL health-services doing complex surgeries. We need a-lot of attention towards our health policy, this is one area I am very critical of the government. Yes the govt has addressed a number of areas especially reducing infant or maternity deaths thru the roll out of 'mch' to rural areas. It still has long way to go becuz the health policy isn't even clear what needs to be done.
The following segments need to be added to our health policy. We want healthy babies and senior citizens as the first priority becuz this will address early childhood diseases which will reduce our infant mortality and by focusing on senior health services we can increase life expectancy.
These two segments need 'high priority' becuz it's critical those 'numbers' in comparison to 'specialist' services for unique diseases which isn't 'common'. Those can be addressed as last priority.
Immunisation roll out of children must be one big service provided rurally and urban
Research on common early death of our seniors and putting in place the facilities to prevent or treat these problemes. This alone cud increase life span of our seniors
The final health outcome is the rest of the population delivering 'general' health services with a focus based on 'common reported health issues'.
Imagine PL when u read their 'health outcomes' and we have the lowest infant death, healthiet childhood thru immunisation and longest life spans in Somalia due to treating or preventing early senior death. Finally once that is done, we can work on the rests of the population segments.
