There is a way to have some autonomy in regions while retaining an internationally recognized Somali government that works for all. How long has Somaliland been trying to get international recognition? You think it's going to be easier for Puntland? Just stop wasting time, bring the country together and fix this stupid mess. Isn't the oil in Puntland and Somaliland? Why haven't they extracted it already? If there was any meaningful development going on, as in laws being written to protect property rights, ease of doing business, anti corruption and so on, those regions would be well on their way but none of that has happened.

We haven’t been able to extract it due to Mogadishu claiming our oil reserves that’s literally the reason the company said for pulling out of Puntland. They said they would return when the political climate allows them to, meaning until Mogadishu stops claiming our oil.

We have no military bases and there are none planned and the port deal was approved by the FGS.
