Why are we trying to claim these people? We have our own history, culture, and language, and there's no proof that they were Cushitic. Trying to steal someone else's history and culture is wrong and you all would be mad if some other ethnic group did the same to you. Give it a rest.

This is directed at the Somalis trying to claim them as Cushites.

Ancient Egyptians were either white or Arabs.There is no way cushitic sub humans with an IQ of 67 could have build anything significant alone on their own.Cushites may have been the slaves who build it in the name of the Arabs and Whites though.Now that is believable.

I somehow got into this topic with an Egyptian girl. Surprisingly she was telling me that the ancient Egyptians were from South Egypt and were dark skinned. Apparently the rest of the Egyptians today are mixed with Arab.

The earliest Egyptians are Cushitic because they were the remnants of the C group civilization in N. Sudan that scattered north and they spoke an extinct Cushitic language. NE Africa back then was total Cushitic lands with the Berbers out West and Arabs still confined to the Penisula. Over time intermixed happened with the nearby Phoenicians, Meds, etc....

Also note that the ruling family genetics is different from the everyday Ancient Egyptians cause they would interamarry with foreigners as the case with Cleopatra.

Even modern day Sudanis are mixed with Arabs. The original inhabitants just before Islam looked like South Sudanese people, then after Islam the Arab invaders mated with their women. Now they're around 40-50 % Arab. That's in less than 1000 years. Now imagine Ancient Egypt's civilization that lasted 3000-4000 years and was connected to the Levant, Mediterranean, Arabia, etc. It's too long to generalize them as looking like X or Y.

The Ancient Egyptian mummies from the New Kingdom-Roman period came out as ~14 % SSA(Nilotic-like). And this was during the period of intensive Semitic invasions which most likely diluted their SSA percentage substantially. I don't believe that those Ancient Egyptians from the early period were completely SSA, but they probably were at least ~40 %.

Weren't there studies suggesting that they were less Sub-saharan African then than they are now.
The increased SSA in Egypt today is from the arab slave trade.
I think why some think they were cushitic looking is because Somalis/cushites share some ancient Eurasian dna (Natufian) originating in upper Egypt.

Modern day Egyptians have Bantu admixture due to the Arab slave trade which the Ancient Egyptians lacked. But pretty much everyone in the MENA region has some Nilotic-like admixture, even Ashkenazi Jews(around 2 %, but it's still there) I believe.

Hamites were said to have spoken Hamitic languages, which consisted of three branches of the Afroasiatic (Hamito-Semitic) family: Berber, Cushitic and Egyptian.[1]
Hamites (from the biblical Ham) is a historical term in ethnology and linguistics for a division of the Caucasian race and the group of related languages these populations spoke. The appellation Hamitic was applied to the Berber, Cushitic and Egyptian branches of the Afroasiatic language family, which, together with the Semitic branch, was thus formerly labelled "Hamito-Semitic".[1] However, since the three Hamitic branches have not been shown to form an exclusive (monophyletic) phylogenetic unit of their own, separate from other Afroasiatic languages, linguists no longer use the term in this sense. Each of these branches is instead now regarded as an independent subgroup of the larger Afroasiatic family.[2]

Beginning in the 19th century, scholars generally classified the Hamitic race as a subgroup of the Caucasian race, along with the Semitic race – thus grouping the non-Semitic populations native to North Africa and the Horn of Africa, including the Ancient Egyptians.[3] According to the Hamitic theory, this "Hamitic race" was superior to or more advanced than Negroid populations of Sub-Saharan Africa. In its most extreme form, in the writings of C. G. In the early 20th century, theoretical models of Hamitic languages and of Hamitic races were intertwined.[4]

This nomenclature gradually fell out of favor between the 1960s and 1980s, in large part due to its perceived association with colonial paternalism.[5] The populations of Hamitic ancestral stock are now more commonly known as "Caucasoid".[6]
