Bro your coming up with straw mans I thought you wanted to adopt the culture of growth through criticism. If you don’t understand trade tariffs t trader doesn’t pay the tariff he marks up the price to make the consumer pay for the tariff and berbera goods are still cheaper than bosaso goods after the tariffs and try just pour in from Ethiopia anyways so there is no point of the tariff you’re just causing less disposable income for your population.@Samaalism As for increasing taxes on SL/GM/ and anyone that is connected to the PL 'trade hub' isn't a problem for me. I am just angry they increased it on locals also. This will mean less spending in our market--place, therefore less hiring. Do I want to see our govt use our taxes responsibily and build the required 'infrastructure' to generate growth of course I do. Do I know it's highly unlikely and will be embezzled by corrupt companies or officials, most likely.
That's why I prefer a low tax approach, let's not bother our people taxes untill we reach a governance level that is 'trustworthy' is my point and then they can increase the taxes. But while our governance isn't up to scratch, why 'increase the taxes'? As for increasing taxes on non puntites who use our infrastructure like roads and other services, I do support that. I support Deni PL FIRST economic approach this is a must. We do not lose anything because most of our 'trade' is local in PL, it's not connected to SL so you can't retailate bruv. PL has nothing to do with SL, it's poorer then us, it's you who depends on the RICHER AND STRONGER PL ECONOMY. Plus our ARMY IS HUGE BRUV
PL economy is tied to our local customers who are based in PL, we don't give two shits about a few trucks from SL trying to secure new markets, u will pay extra in order to punish your goods in the market place and increase puntite growth. I suggest u stick to SL zone and stop coming into PL, this market place is basically 'shut' for your petty traders.
The nonsense somalilanders work low skilled labour in xamar and puntland is just not true. Some hawiye say that at times because there are isaaq that make fun of the state they’re in and it’s just an insult to say but there is no low skilled workers in xamar there are only mercenary politicians and those who they get gov jobs who milk the breast of xamar.
What are the sectors of work that’s employing puntlanders that Somaliland doesn’t have? Earlier you were saying Somaliland just has hotels. Ok if we just have hotels and you don’t that means the hotel business in Somaliland will need a lot of employees. So why would people leave SL to work in a hotel in PL. bro your delusional. Somaliland has headquarters for many business like dahabshill world remit somtel telesom. It has a Coca-Cola factory it has the largest flour factory in Somalia. A cement company is under construction. Our water bottles are all over the country. We have the cheapest port and our ganacsato have a monapoly in Somali galbeed oromiya puntland and stuff trickles down into konfuur. We have the busiest airport and have the most expats coming back in the summers and spending money in SL. We export the most geel. Like I want to know a sector of the economy where you’re ahead.
