This is true , pedophilia and rape are global problems, not something unique to Somalia. The difference is that Somalia’s local governments are actually taking concrete steps to combat it. They’ve rolled out DNA forensics, strengthened legal mechanisms, and groups like the Female Lawyers Associations have been pushing for access to justice, policy influence, and harsher sentences. These actual problems exist all over the world and africa. Depaite the fact there’s is a law now changing that ppl are still using somalia/somalis as a punching bag calling us protecting pedos and rapists etc when the government is literally doing something to combat this
how can you not see the cognitive dissonance vileness and racism ?
That is misleading to suggest that Somali women are the only ones. Groups that are far more conservative have spoken about their issues in detail to the point we know very well what it means to be a woman in their culture/community. I have seen many and I mean many groups of women talk about their so called issues. Yemen is practically known as a society that normalizes child marriage.
I don’t feel shame about this. That’s the thing. We’re not perpetuating “shame culture” by calling out those who use the trauma of people back home for clicks and views online, allowing comments degrading their own people to stay up. Or who think that crying to the same gaalos funding the killing of Palestinian women care about their traumatic experiences. The reason that it may appear that people feel shame around issues impacting women being spoken about is because often, women’s rights are weaponised by Westerners and their puppets against Muslim countries. See how even non Westerners like Nigerians or Kenyans whose countries are ground zero for femicide are wilding out about Somalia in the comments.I do not dispute that many conversations needed to be had 'in-house'. But many of the conclusions are simply false. I also find it amusing that this shame is only felt when it comes to issues impacting women. I know for a fact that if I created a social media account in English talking about how relatives stole my house and the GOV did nothing about it-no one would bat an eyelid.
I do somewhat agree with you overall, but for me the conversation is nuanced as I am simply pointing out is that no third world country with a failed GOV will ever have a good rep. That alone is damning which many on here can't seem to understand. I want this to be a factor that Somalis take seriously so that we can change our society and image.

Ethiopia has a far higher rate of child marriage than Somalia though. At least in Somalia there are measures being taken by local governments to combat it.Im oromo from today🫡 #LAFTINAGA

Weird meanwhile Yemen still have child brides marrying at ages of 9,10,11,12Idk how to say this but Somalia, like all muslim countries, has always had this specific stereotype attached it. Whenever people diss muslims child marriage is one of the first things they mention
But they are being bombed by the IOF so if you talk about it twitter niggas swear on their life that you're a Mossad assetWeird meanwhile Yemen still have child brides marrying at ages of 9,10,11,12
That doesn’t mean we should accept it. We ain’t hindi. Somali creators should do the same thing. We should bring light to poor Nigerian girls that are being trafficked across sub Saharan Africa by Nigerian dudes.Nobody will remember by this by November. Does anyone even think about the racist park woman incident?
