Nope. Nothing to do with Somalis ofc, they put him in place and supported him all these years while he was killing Somalis. Apparently they're playing him on t.v. apologizing to them for the looted shops and burnt church from when they invaded Jigjiga.

Yea but that stuff that happened on the 4th is like 0.0003% percent of bad he did. All Tplf generals and stooges like abiy should be charged in court . His fate should be decided by the Somali people weather they drag him on the street, put him in jail or forgive him thats up to them. Jawar taking trips to hajj, Semora&Co. are chilling in Mekele and Ahmed shide gets promoted to party chairman and Abdi gets put in jail? Thats not something that can be taken lightly. We know the game abiy and jawar are playing, and we're not toys.

Believe me if Abdi didn't go bananas in his last days and started burning churches and properties with his organized hooligans, he would not be in jail today just like the other EPRDF old guards. PM Abiy made it clear from the start that his intention for the old guard is NOT revenge but amnesty. No one of them, even in the south, was jailed at all.

All of them were told to leave office and not to block the new democratization process and in return they will get not only amnesty but also some ambassadorial jobs. I will give you two examples. The former president of Tigray, Abay Woldu and the former president of the South Shiferaw Shigute both with lots of criminal records were offered ambassadorial position and they agreed leaving the post for moderate reformers.

But Abdi Iley refused for 4 months. He neither transformed himself to a democrat and allow dissent and opening nor did he want to leave his post for moderates. At the same time Somalis, seeing all the freedom in other states, were camping in Addis Ababa for months and demanding the same freedom in their state. The last straw that broke the horses back was his hego hooligans going and attacking, looting and burning mostly targeting all non-somali Ethiopians. That made him a special case, losing any sympathy left from all the society. In fact many Somali citizens helped save Ethiopian lives by hiding them in their homes. Kudos to them! At that time it was clear, Abdi not only rejected amnesty but going full force with a rebellion, and for that a coward one that has civilians as its target. Sorry, but no one can help such an idiot!
