What's so bad that it can't be resolved? The changes doesn't even look bad wlhi.

Somali citizens will vote for both houses, the president and vice president, regional presidents and vice presidents, regional parliament, and local government through a secret ballot system.

An Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission will be established to manage, register voters, parties and candidates, and announce the results of the elections. They will conduct voter registration and elections in both state and federal elections.

This commission will have 15 members that will be selected by the council of ministers then approved by the parliament, and the president.

The electoral system will adopt a two-party system. All registered political parties will compete for these two positions in local elections, and the two parties with the highest votes will become the two national parties that will compete for seats in the House of Representation and the positions of president and vice president.

Any and all dealings should be done in good faith. Establish communication with Puntland and ensure a middle ground can be reached. If not then I think the federal government should back off and visit the issue at a later date.


Autonomy isnt a issue, people like to feel free. The issue is regulation and establishing a uniformed system of law and security. The plan should be for the federal government to control foreign affairs, rule of law and security. Anything else should be left to the states to figure out.

Some of the articles are great in my opinion. Like 28.3 making primary education compulsory, 41 tge duties to uphold Islamic fundamentals along with looking after environment and animals.

Proposal 35.2 is very interesting since the extradition of somali citizens is prevented and essentially makes Somalia a safe haven for Somalis. This is good and bad as while it will mean the protection of our diaspora from hostile governments, it will no doubt also mean feeling criminals will exploit it. Perhaps they'll flush it out more by outline offenses that would lead to extradition.


Other proposals like the land being the collective property of all Somali citizens is something I've been wanting. However I understand that people will have issues with folk abusing this so the establishment of national land commission is good.

Personally I think there should've been a proposal that any and all government titles can not be held by someone with a secondary citizenship. Force the ruling class to make the ship sail or sink along side it.

I think Somalia ultimate goal should be to ensure the basics of life be free for its citizens. So healthcare, educationa and social safety for those most vulnerable in society.
