Interesting. Yup it was a win for all parties. I don't like how the Government have decided to not update the map though. It confuses people.

Despite not getting representation in Gabiley this time around, we still have a sizable population with real estate, farms, and businesses there. It'll do us good to maintain our population there for futures sake.

Also, the political issue of the locked 6 villages of Eastern Lughaya and with the road from Borama to Baki nearing completion. We will be push to get more representation elsewhere. The Samaroon (Reer Nuur & Reer Maxamed) of Borama and Baki districts should set their sights on Gabiley and Lughaya representation in the next Local district elections. They should leave Borama to the other subs and don't have any other competition in Baki anyway. They should either back up the Baha Samaroon candidates in Gabiley or the Bahabar Muuse/Mahad Case in Lughaya or compete in those places themselves. Most likely they'd do the latter due to their big voter bases

The Baha Samaroon who remain were divided. They should have only registered one candidate for the local elections and one candidate for the Parliament. If they did that they could have gotten one seat comfortably. They had a total combined vote of 3k but because it was split into two candidates, each individual count wasn't enough to get into the local government council. They need better organisation.

Lughaya district doesn't really need too much effort, the Bahabar Muuse will always be the mayor. It is a comfortable and secure district like all previous local elections have shown, the mayor has always been a Bahabar Muuse and they always top the voter count. The Samaroon candidates in the district had a combined vote count of over 6k, the Ciise struggled to muster 2k. The Samaroon lost 1600 votes needlessly in Lughaya, that could have been one more seat. In 2012, we had 10 out of 13 seats in Lughaya because the council seats were more. We need to make sure to understand not to field too many candidates and choose the best number and understand the district grade systems to know how many seats each district is offering.

Our biggest challenge for the next local elections is getting back Zeila district. We made a really dumb mistake by fielding too many candidates and caused our vote count to be split too thin amongst the many candidates. We should have taken lessons from our 2012 win. We learn and we move.
