Native Animals and Flora Thread

I’m really interested in documenting the native wildlife and plants that are in Somalia. Obviously due to decades of instability many species are on the verge of being endengered or even extinct. I strongly believe the SFG in the future should develop an agency similar to what we have in the U.S and other developed nations to preserve and conserve our environment.

This also included livestock.

For example the Blackhead Persian sheep originated in Somalia (Lol @ the attempt to erase the origins) and was imported into South Africa in 1870. Now there’s millions of that breed and South Africans have been importing them around the world... Smh

They are very numerous and aren’t a threat to be endangered (mainly because their main predators are scarce due to civil war)

Not much is known about them, as locals have reported to see it very rarely. It’s believed to be a data insufficient species. They live mainly by the arid coastal areas and live in caves.

It is called "yeey" or "eey duured" and lag badanaa is in Badhaadhe district between Badhaadhe, Kulbiyow and Raas Kamboni.
I have seen many wild animals in that area including elephants.
I will go there and document all species in that area one time InshaAllah
