That is true except for a few regions like instabul and much of Agean region which were ethnic Greek. The rest of the Greeks were just assimilated Anatolian natives who later got assimilated by Turkic Nomads conquered the region under their seljuk empire which was actually Persia but ruled by Turks cause they can.
