The Caliph must be from Qurey. The Ottoman Empire was not a legitimate caliphate.

Imam Harb Al Kirmani said in his ijma of the salaf: “the khilafa remains among Quraysh as long as there remain two of them from the people.”

This is what Imam Nawawi explaining this authentic hadith said:

هذا الحديث وأشباهه دليل ظاهر على أن الخلافة مختصة بقريش، لا يجوز عقدها لأحد غيرهم، وعلى هذا انعقد الإجماع في زمن الصحابة فكذلك من بعدهم. .​

This Hadith and others similar to it are clear indications that the Khilafa is only for Quraysh....

people were following Qurey in Shirk and Kufr when they were disbelievers but the moment they Islamized all Arabs started entering God's religion in droves. So people follow them in Islam and Kufr.

Some say yes other say no but those who say yes
The qurashi must be high level with good character like the same level as the non qurashi competitor other wise he won’t be chosen.
