I don't think ethiopia's problem is getting a port to import, they want land to sieze, so that they can build at anytime they want, extend their global impact and exploit the somalis untapped seashores

The situations is different now, Somalia despite it's issues is geniunely getting back on it's feet while Ethiopia is fighting desperately to keep from falling apart. The Kenyans are greedy and wanted to get more of the sea but they'd be content with us ending our insurgency and keeping the border area safe. The Turks want a reliable ally in the red sea region to counter the influence of the UAE. The biggest issue is the UAE and the Ethiopians, the UAE has the money and the ambition to become a naval empire but they get smoked in Yemen and want to push into Africa by buying up key ports with DP World and they're using the Ethiopians to do their dirty work hence why they're rewarding them with money and arms.

I think most FMS will be supportive of this. Getting back on our feet looks different to them. They all want to undermine FGS and sell to outside countries exclusively. All the ports almost foreign owned. Everyone wants to follow Djibouti blue print, ports and military basis to highest bidder with nothing to fgs. We have no real economy outside this and livestock. No recognition will likely come of this just a fractured Somalia under Ethiopia. I will be plesently surprised if any FMS leader denounces this and risks Ethiopian business
