Corrupt politicians steal most of the profits and leave only a small portion for some basic infrastructure projects. Somalia becomes slightly wealthier but overall still poor af with subpar education and infrastructure and extreme income inequality.
Somalia will be more like Algeria, there are too many checks and balances in place where the typical African model of resource corruption won’t fly. You only have to look at the fact that Somalia has no primate city, but multiple large ones in different parts of the country, same with major seaports and airports all across the country, same with the road network, factories, schools and universities.
There is more equal development across the board in Somalia than most countries on the continent, even the ones with oil rigs and mines. What Somalia now needs is to upgrade that level of development to first world tier projects, which can only come from extracting the country’s rich resources, something that should have been done already in the 1960s.

It would be weird when part of the agreement was to make our government isku sharci with theirs. So everything will be out in the open to turkey, if their funds are making to soldiers, if the projects from the oil money are taking place, if the people commanding their nato trained navy hold the expertise.
