There appears to be growing resentment among some Bantu Kenyans toward the Somali community. I believe the issue isn’t truly about symbolic matters like flags, but rather about the perceived wealth gap between Somali Kenyans and bantus. I've seen numerous TikToks where Kenyans express concern over this disparity, suggesting that Somalis will eventually outnumber them. Many are beginning to realize that the majority of Somalis in Kenya are not recent immigrants from Somalia, but long established Somali Kenyans many of who come from larger families compared to their Bantu counterparts. Historically, the Somali population in Kenya may have been undercounted in national censuses, but that seems to be changing. There is now a growing recognition that Somalis are becoming an increasingly influential demographic, and some believe that in the next decade, Somalis could play a major role in governing Kenya potentially even producing a president within 15 years.
