Marriage is archaic for people who don't want children. Its definitely beneficial for people want to "raise" children. particularly an emphasis on the raise part. Ive been reading up on neo socialism on my spare time and it all begins with one individual called Francoise Fourier, a philosopher who was inspired by the French revolution in the 18th century, He was the first one to coin the term "Feminism" and reject the modern family relationships of the 18th century, he was also one of the first people to push for the women rights movement. Other philosophers such as Frederik Engels and Karl Marx also did extensive work to the more progressive molding of the Family unit. Engels copublished The Origin of the Family,Private Property and the State (1884), where their thoughts on "free love" and the family unit can be viewed. These "visionaries" where strong proponents for the "anti marriage" dogma, they had revolutionary ideas of the family unit, one that would envisage the communist state that they wanted to form. Several other international groups found these ideologies inspirational ,and poof like wildfire the attack on the family unit was sealed. A lot of men see how useless it is to marry, as the secondary effects of these ideologies can be felt one way or the other. (Note that this is a western phenomenon at most).
