Aren't they supposed to inspect the bridges every now and then to insure incidents like this don't happen?Heavy rains, looks like the embankments were filled with sand and then surrounded by cement which caused it to collapse once the sand/dirt got wet.
No, it’s usually just igu sawir and move onAren't they supposed to inspect the bridges every now and then to insure incidents like this don't happen?
Damn thats crazy. I'm studying civil engineering currently and they take field inspections super seriously. Do you know if this was managed by Somalis or folks abroad? No, it’s usually just igu sawir and move on
Not sure but it was part of the Berbera Corridor project. Likely built by locals with funding from UAE.Damn thats crazy. I'm studying civil engineering currently and they take field inspections super seriously. Do you know if this was managed by Somalis or folks abroad?

Yes, and as soon as the heavy rains start the sand will obviously get wet and it will collapse the ends of the bridge, which will then cause the center to collapse due to the load. I’ve seen bridges collapse like this before. Almost as if someone put up the concrete to make it look stable. Literal deception, that is why people are calling it khiyanoYou can clearly see they put only Sand under the Concrete, No Gravel, Or Rocks NOTHING
This whole Bridge was built Poorly
The guy in the Video is right, they just put sand and covered it up with Concrete
Wow. Standards need to be raised back home especially with how important infrastructure like bridges areYou can clearly see they put only Sand under the Concrete, No Gravel, Or Rocks NOTHING

DP world making sure their Jabel Ali middleman port is never challenged while at the same time collecting ictirafland's moneyThat video is from the first time this bridge collapsed in 2023.
It has collapsed for the second time, this time for good.
The damage this time around cannot be repaired.

Where im from the geotech is there full time for the piling scope. They will inspect the material removed during piling and compare it against what is the design (does it match the bore logs?). They'll also make sure they drilled to correct depth, or tell them they can shorten the pile if they were to hit rock etc.Damn thats crazy. Local industry is disgustingly bad man. What are those darn technical schools any good forThe problem with this bridge is that it was given to Somali engineers. The rest of the bridges were built by the Emiratis There are 33 bridges built.
but this bridge was supervised by some corrupt people
The rest of the bridges are well built but this one needs to be rebuilt.
They Give them a bridge located in the largest valley so they can get experience in building bridgesLocal industry is disgustingly bad man. What are those darn technical schools any good for
This year's rainy season was the strongest and this valley receives all the rain that falls in the golis mountains, so it is the largest.I wonder what kind of weather events this bridge has been designed for? I would have thought 1 in100 year events or more. Maybe it was made for a 1 in 0.5 year event.![]()
