Maxaa Tiri is than divided into three major accents which are Af Woqooyi which is for northern Somalis. Af Mudug which is for central Somalis and finally, Af Konfuur, also known as (Benadir) which is for southern Somalis.

Af Woqooyi sounds very strong and aggressive.

Af Mudug sounds accentless and calm.

Af Konfuur sounds very soft and feminine.

Accents have weird stereotype attached to them, here is the major 5 accents in Somalia.

Reer Xamar accent: Feminine, soft and sounds dumb just like AA accent.

Reer Waqooyi accent : aggressive,full of defence daragotry words and talktive.

Reer Bari accent : modest,articlute and descriptive.

Reer mudug accent :Annoying high pitched and repetitive.

Reer Galbeed accent : Poetic and classic Somali accent suitable for story telling and poetry.
