Actually most frankincense is found in bari and there's even some in nugaal, the ancient egyptians mostly wanted incense and opone was the land of incense. There's also many archaeological findings that suggest its the most important port the punt went to as the region was the bridge between azania and the red sea. Opone also served as a port of call for merchants from phoenicia, Greece, persia, Yemen, Nabataea, Azania and the Roman empire while merchants could travel as far as Indonesia and Mayalsia to trade in Opone.

More fake news. Somaliland grows the finest frankincense this is a pure fact. I’m not readin anymore of your nonsense . Too much BS, like Mudane @Factz already pointed out there’s way more Land of Punt archeological findings in SL than anywhere else. All the painting , and we have statues and other artificats.

If the Egyptians wanted the best frankincense SL was the spot to go as we grow more frankincense then you but we also have the highest quality. If the Roman Catholic Church even knows this , then so did the Egyptians

Take your emotional outburst elsewhere lol, Erigavo(west sanaag) is your main frankincense region while we have East Sanaag bari and some parts of nugaal. Frankincense, myrrh and incense is found all over puntland and thats what the ancient egyptians wanted, the fact that opone and mosylon had bigger roles in any somaliland town during the emporiun red sea era. :samwelcome:

What you guys don't know about Frankincense is scary. What you claim is even worse. The very worst is what Somalis are dong to their own resource.

Boswellia Sacra is threatened because of over harvesting in both Oman and Somalia. The trees are not allowed to flower and seed and some die each year.

The other true Frankincenses are also threatened for the same reasons.

"The bad news about our Frankincense trees.
With a growing demand and poor management on our part, our supply of Frankincense from around the world is shrinking at an alarming rate. Trees are dying much faster than they can reproduce. Little is being done to reverse the trend, address the problems, or remedy the situation. The future of Frankincense is getting bleaker by the moment.

The majority of our world’s supply of Frankincense comes from

  • Ethiopia
  • Somalia/Somaliland.
  • India
  • Oman and the Arabian peninsula
  • Sudan and Kenya
It is safe to say, that beyond minor variations, the Frankincense trees in all these countries are disappearing for the same reasons. Even as, or perhaps because, our world demand for Frankincense is steadily increasing.

Currently, all Frankincense and Myrrh resins are harvested from wild trees. There are no functional agricultural plantations, reforestation, or propagation programs of that can take some of the pressure off the wild stock.

An exception is Guy Erlich’s Balm of Gilead farm, which is home to a thriving plantation of Frankincense Sacra trees by the Dead Sea in Israel. Though his orchard is steadily expanding, it may be decades before his trees produce a meaningful amount of resin."

The good news here is that it looks like Boswellia can be domesticated. But will that happen in Somalia? Only looking at the past is not going to give you a future.

Are you on crack? Our border with you is Yubbe (hadaaftimo is actually even further east than Yubbe and we control that too, including some other tuulos) and that’s in the east. We have West, Central , and part of east Sanaag you goofball. Buuqland has a population of 1 million according to World Bank report. According to world bank report Sool and Sanaag are entirely under SL, leaving Buuqland with a population of 1.1 million in Bari & Nugaal
