OPINION Kenyans praise Somaliland, call Somalia a shithole.

As a recap on Somalia's situation today:
1. Rebels who under some legal loophole want to form a tribal majority state. Hate everything to do with Somalia.
2. Rebels in the South who want nothing to do with Somalia and want an arabic Islamic state with Arabic as the main language. Kill people for building roads or whenever they feel like it.
3. Ethiopian and Kenyan forces who are paid by EU to squat on Somali lands and only attempt to defend their interests/borders.
4. A whole FGS based only on 600 million dollars and are beholden to foreigners in the UN and their UN representative is a white guy called James swan. James has visited Hargeisa while FGS can't ( who is the real president)
5. Somali Galbeed and Somali NFD politicans publicly anti-Somalia and love Meles/Kenyatta.
6. Nearly 30% of GDP is spent on Khat.

the fact that we're praising SL for doing the bare minimum (maintaining peace for 30 years) and achieving nothing else but a foreign owned port shows how tragic our situation is.
Worst part about it is you'll see SLers being proud of the fact that they sat around and ate khat for 30 years. I'd rather be in war for that time so I at least have an excuse. 3 decades but not a single worthwhile improvement.
not even hating, wallahi I'd be happy if Somaliland showed potential. But the longer this goes on the more I realize what awaits for Somalis if we keep being disunited.

Somaliland is in a better position than any other Somali state, what you've just said is ignoring/downplaying many of the achievements Somaliland has made in the last 30 years
The peace we've experienced made it easier to secure foreign investment such as the Berbera port that would not only rival competitors in the region but also would generate enough revenue for the government to upheld more projects, such as expanding education in the region by building over two dozen schools, or solar powered desalination plants, or a trade fair where entrepreneurs/businesmen can freely advertise their products without a shed of fear, or even an agricultural ministry build recently with the aim to boost its agricultural productio/output which is what all Somali inhabited areas need, and what im talking about has mainly happened just this year, imagine how long it'll take to list the last 30 years

None of this is to say we're perfect, we should be striving for much more now and in the future, as with all somalis we have our share of issues, but we ought to have a sense of proportion and understand how much we've accomplished
