I highly doubt SL can even fight another war, it can barely afford to pay its army, coup
Ciise live across the border and Samaroon neighbours in awdal also have a presence in Djibouti. I myself have family from Awdal, Dir dhaba and Ali Sabieh however during the 70s and 80s Ciise mass migrated to Djibouti leaving behind alot of this land.
The whole area has been slowly abandoned for the past 150 years, it's been slowly dying since the 16th century.

It was a large city and capital during the Medieval times however after the Futuh Al habash and the fall of Adal lots of trade routes collapsed and many towns and cities in the hinterland especially that relied on it basically died and the population was forced to become agro-pastoralists switching between the seasons.

That's why you find complete stone built towns in random arid places in Somaliweyn and esp Galbeed that are completely abandoned. Similar thing happened in Abyssinia. It's mostly because there was no central state and army that could protect these trade and settlements from the Galla hordes. The horn basically went into a dark age after the Futuh that only really ended in the 1800s where our states started to become strong however Europeans arrived and fucked it up.

That explains all the ruins in the middle of Awdal, it was like our version of the bronze age collapse.

Djibouti continues the legacy of exporting their goods and collecting sizeable tribute in return :lolbron:

If we had nothing, you would have had to try and get through our land but you knew what would happen if you did That's why you were afraid and stopped :trumpsmirk:
We stopped because your clan elders came to us and begged us for peace, and we knew that there was nothing to gain from occupying your tuulos. So we settled for peace.

It was the other way around as when much of the north fell to SNM your clan elders sued for peace where the Garad of Dhulbahante leading a delegation visited SNM main headquarters Baligubadle in 1989 in talks with the leadership on how peace between the communities and stability in the area can be preserved in the absence of the central govt.

The elders had better sense, or else we wouldn't be better off than the south now, now hosting Ethiopian troops in SL and FGS land is high treason, all should be expelled and talks held between both groups.

I've been hearing rumours of SL hosting Somali-speaking Oromo troops and SL general in tasks with Ethiopian counterparts, we're heading into dark ERA in the north.
